Post by trax Tue Mar 31, 2009 3:25 pm

My hub did very well yesterday, everyone was very pleased. His medication has been changed and this should be an improvement with the numbers. He had his staples removed and his scar, the doctor says is in great shape. He can drive again and begin slowly an exercise program. In mid June he has to go back for a follow up. I anticipate if the medication is correct, all will be well.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts, concerns, and well wishes. That has meant a lot to me, I appreciate it very much.

Terrific Trax, I hope the new meds help with the blood pressure and I am sure being able to start resuming normal activities is a huge relief to both of you!

Thank you, again - all - for caring. The medication that was of new has not performed any miracles. I look at the numbers and I think I am going to have a stroke. His numbers have been beyond +200 (the first number) and then dive to 110...the doctor continues to say, the body has to adjust, it takes time.

Oh no! I hope things stabilize soon! You really will end up having a stroke if this stress continues.

Trax, try to take it at the same time of day each day and don't let him speak while you're doing it since that can cause it to vary. It will give you a better indicatioin of what it's actually doing. Hopefully the doctor is right. (((hugs)))

Yes - in answer to Rebecca1340 - the blood pressure is take the same time everyday. Three times a day, everything is taken to the doctor. Honestly, I am getting very pissed at the system, pissed at doctors (but I never had much faith in them) and smiling at the weather, it is beautiful!

To all, thank you - again, much appreciated. 28th of April is the next doctors' appointment.

Thank you all but I am sorry to say my husband blood pressure has not become normal, far from it. This morning it was 230/110. Stroke range.

I looked at the monitor and slowly moved to the telephone, we do have 911 service.

He visits the doctors on June 2nd, specialist June 22nd.

I try to find some sort of humor in all of this, I told my husband this morning, my blood pressure would not even go that high in the sight of Bruce Springsteen or John Prine - he laughed and agreed.

We hope for better days.

Wow, that is scary! How does he feel? Be prepared, what is it you put under their tongue if they are starting a stroke? I hope he gets some helpful info on Tuesday, but dang that's a long time off. Can you call the doc?

Oh Trax! I hate to hear that he keeps getting such high readings. Even if he doesn't have a stroke from it, that can't be good for him.

I just realized that too, Lucky. I hope it's because she's busy relaxing with him in the hopes that it helps the BP. I'm nervous, though.
