My Husband
My husband has an aortic aneurysm and the doctors will be performing surgery this afternoon. He has waited three days for a bed. I am so relieved he got a bed today and hopefully a successful surgery it will be.
Should the aneurysm burst, even being in the hospital, chances of him surviving are 50%. Not great odds, but the hospital is the best place for him to be. While they are repairing the aneurysm they will also move his kidneys. They are in the wrong position, apparently he was born that way.
Not been a great three days for me - I am hanging in there. I think there is a tendency in situations like this to feel somewhat sorry for yourself. I was doing that for three days, today I am better.
My confidence is slowly returning, my neighbors have been outstanding - helpful and caring - like you folks are.

Trax, I'm so sorry to hear he isn't well. But I'm impressed with how brave you are being. I'd be falling apart. I will pray for you both.

Re: My Husband
Trax, that's got to be so hard on you, waiting like that. It definitely sounds like there is no other option but to go ahead with surgery, so that takes the guesswork out of the process. I hope he gets outstanding care and that everything works out well.
You'll both be in our thoughts in the next few days.

That's so scary! I hope by now that he's out of surgery and doing well and that you can breathe a little easier too. Don't forget to take care of yourself through all of this as well.

Re: My Husband
My husband made it! The surgery went as planned. I spoke to the drs/nurses/hospital, his vital signs are good, he is aware and alert
I have to get some rest, I am so tired.
Thank you for all your prayers, thoughts, and good wishes - very much appreciated.

Re: My Husband
Whoo-hoo! I'm so relieved. I worried about you two in my sleep last night! This is wonderful, wonderful news.
Remember to take care of yourself, too, Trax. Rest, eat well, and listen to some of that John Prine you love. It will help keep you strong for him.

Re: My Husband
I spoke with the nurse in recovery this morning. She was so kind. She went to his room gave him the telephone and patched me through. It was nice to hear his voice. He was able to stand and take a few steps this morning.
Every little baby step that is taken on a road filled with gravel is a step taken towards a road of pavement.
We hope to hit the pavement with both feet on the ground, we will.
Thank you all for your support, your kind thoughts/prayers and wishes. It is very much appreciated.
