Re: Daughter is sick..
I am definatly starting to get worried. I honestly dont know how she has held it together this long. I would be a nervous wreck. I am praying her daughter is currently getting medical care and she is busy with her and sleeping.
Re: Daughter is sick..
I am assuming no one has any other way to contact her? Another message board? E-mail?? I am worried too. Definately has been in my thoughts and prayers.
Re: Daughter is sick..
I checked and she has her profile set so that I could send her an e-mail. I did, from all of us, letting her know that they were in our prayers and to let us know if there's anything we can do.
Re: Daughter is sick..
Hi,
Thanks all. We are now at the Barbara Bush Childrens Hospital at Maine Medical Center. We took a 6 hour ambulance ride on Wed. I brought Wynonna in to the dr up home on Tue and they decided to admit her right away. The minute her GI specialist found out her test results he ordered her to be admitted down here where she would have the care she needs. When we got here they immediately started doing tests, CT scans and found that her colon was so inflamed that they were worried about it perforating. So far the steroids aren't working and if by tomorrow they aren't working they want to try a drug called Remicaid (sp) . The hospital here is really good, but we are kinda bummed since any family or friends are 6 hours north. We talk to them everyday since we've been here though. My husband needed to stay home and work and take care of our son who has summer school. So it's just me and Wynonna here. I can't stay on the computer long because it is a computer in the parents lounge that is shared by everyone, but I may pop on later to let you all know the latest. Right now we have no idea when we will be going home yet, and Wynonna's B day is Thursday the 17th. I am so hoping she will be well enough to go home and continue her care up there by then, but if the best place for her to be is here then we will have to deal with it the best we can. I will update you all later. Thanks for the prayers, we can use them.

Re: Daughter is sick..
Kelly would it be alright is chelle saved your address for everyone, then you can edit your post to delete your home addy from a public forum?
I'm a little paranoid about posting anything THAT personal in public.
I'll talk about my hysterectomy and menopause all day long though...call me crazy

bawhahahahahahahhaha
I was just telling a yankee friend of mine about how we southern girls get 357s for our Sweet 16 B-days instead of cars and new dresses.
She was wondering why I had my guns laying on the kitchen table (I was taking advantage of the fact my babies were gone & I was cleaning them)

Re: Daughter is sick..
Nothing new this morning, still giving the steroids a chance to work in the next two days, they should have by now, but they want to give the steroids every opportunity before trying the Remicaid. Unless I hear something new sometime today. They did send someone from Pain Management late yesterday, to help better get a handle on the dispensing of the pain meds so that she can be comfortable and be able to get some sleep. They said it may take a couple days to get it just right. They also sent someone this morning to try Osteopathic Manipulation to try to help with some of the pain through massage. That's all that I know for now. Her b-day is tommorrow and she's kinda depressed, but I told her that when she gets back home she can have a big b-day party when she feels up to it. I also gave in and told her that she could have the hamster she's been bugging for about 2 years now. She decided she wants a long haired hamster and wants to name him Licky, but that will have to wait. When we are finally able to go home, we will stop at PetCo in Bangor and get him, there is no pet store anywhere near where we live. So that's where we are at for today. Thanks all for listening and for your well wishes.
