They do look gorgeous, especially Kate's cake, but fruitcake and chocolate biscuit cake don't sound appetizing to me.Then again I generally dislike British taste in food.I was there for a week and I had lost weight there lol

The sovereign is also the head of the Church of England and so can't be Catholic. As a result the spouse of the sovereign needs to be Anglican as well to ensure that any potential heirs are able to assume the role as head of the Church as well.
Re: Kate & Will's wedding (and all things royal)
Well after reading all your posts... here's my take I did get up at 4 this morning, but it was go to go the bathroom, and actually ghoutht about going into the LR and turning on the TV, but new I would not go back to bed.
So got bits and pices on The Talk, E, Opray (great show) and 2 hours tonight on ABC.
I loved the dress. I love Williams uniform and the reason for him wearing it...
I'm such an emotional sucker... cried lots of tears. I love fairy tales and hope that Kate & William fare better than Diana and Charles...and I think that 30 years later will make that happen. Those two seem so, well normal, if that can be in the status they are.
Glorious day!

Re: Kate & Will's wedding (and all things royal)
The theater had the feed that featured Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer - was that ABC? All I know is that it was worlds better than the coverage that my husband recorded on CBS (Katie Couric). Oh my, that coverage stunk. CBS replayed tons of footage from the '81 Di and Charles wedding, but we had glorious High Def coverage like 50 feet tall.
The viewing party was a partial success. The breakfast was good: scones, fruit, cheese, mini quiches, pastry, sausages - but there was a fuse blown so the coffee and tea took forever. In the end they brought it to us on trays because by then the wedding had started. They had some raffle prizes. Nice prizes if you lived in the Grand Rapids area. When they started to read winning numbers they got pretty much shushed by the crowd. LOL We wanted it quiet in there.
One cool thing they did was take photos in front of a green screen. You could then choose a background for your photo. They only did the photos until 6, and they got started late because it took them so long to get set up. When they finally announced that the photo booth was ready, we waited in line for a while but ended up choosing to watch the coverage instead of missing it. The woman who sat next to me was at the front of the line and she showed us her picture. It was great! She chose a royal carriage for the background and it really looked as if she was there. She was wearing a Mind the Gap t-shirt (it refers to their underground subway system) which totally made her look like a tourist.

You know - I think if that hat had been a bright color or even a combination of colors it could have been super cute. It was interesting, but sort of a taupe-colored fail. SHe's too young to wear taupe!

The photo-shopped stuff on Facebook is pretty funny. Well, some of it is. Some of it is just mean.
