Did anyone catch Jon & Kate Plus Eight last night?

I have watched this show off and on since it has been on tv. With all the rumors going around in the media, I watched the season premier last night. I'm not sure this marriage will last after watching the show. He still seems like a spoiled brat, and she is still the control freak as always. I dont' agree with his going out with other women (whether just friends or not) while he has 8 kids at home to raise. I heard the rumor of her affair with her body guard, I didn't hear anything of it mentioned last night, but if it is true, I dont' agree with it either.

Jon seems to not want all the attention of the show...well suck it up buddy, it is a bit late for that. He kept saying that it was their business (the problems they are having). Yes, I agree it is their business, but they did sign a contract to do the show, so that makes it the publics business. He is a bit put off because he is staying home with the kids while she is out promoting a book she wrote. He says the decision was made for him. I think he just wants to whine and not do anything. I guess he should have thought about that before bringing 8 kids into the world.

I honestly do not know why they started a new season, I think it will fall apart before it is all said and done.

They started the season because they are under contract. I would love to see TLC let them out from under their contract. I didn't watch the episode but saw some bits on the Today show. Who wants to watch Kate crying all the time, and who likes watching those uncomfortable encounters? Not me. They've said that the network has been great to them, and in the interest of the kids, I think it's time to give them some alone time without them suffering because they've broken their contract.

I've never really watched the show much, but I agree with BzzNut that he shouldn't have signed on to do it if he didn't want his life on TV. As I understand, that show is a major source of income for them and what keeps them afloat. So yes it would bother me to have the world watching my every move. But if that's what's keeping my kids fed and a roof over our heads I'd just deal with it. It IS hard on the kids, but I think the majority of the impact has been positive for them. Who's to say if he would still have cheated (or been out with a female friend) if the stress had been that they were desparate for money instead of desparate for privacy. And yeah, it sucks that the kids' privacy is impacted but it would also have sucked if they'd been all living in a small trailer or been put in foster care when their parents both lost their jobs. It happens.

I have never liked the show, or rather I love to hate Kate. I honestly do not feel bad for them, they exploit their kids for their own gain. They have several nanny's, housekeeers, and a several million dollar home.....all from exploiting 8 innocent kids.

There was a marathon on this weekend, and having never watched the show before but aware of the controversy. I could not help but tune in for the old episodes.

Initially Jon seemed really complacent and happy with the show. His body language was positive and he seemed ok. But the last season, his body language changed and he seemed not 100% there.

Nevertheless I watched last night with the extra 13 minutes and all... Initially I felt sorry for Jon, as Kate is a total control freak. But when the new season started and they were alone in the interviews. It appeared as though she was doing it all, and that is pure insanity. As now they have the press following them everywhere, and now everyday tasks are a big headache. It looked like Kate had an obvious bodyguard when they went to Target to get party decorations. That is sad, as it was Jon that couldn't stay out of the bars and took numerous photos with women.

Overall Jon seemed to have given up on the show, on Kate just on everything. I heard he wanted out of the show. Really where is he going to get paid $75,000 per week at? He hasn't had a job in almost 3 years, and he doesn't seem to have any marketable skills. What is with him? I suggest he just suck it up. Those kids are going to need a lot of money during the growing up process. Sure Kate has another book coming out in October, but who is going to keep buying books if they are away from the public eye.

As a new watcher, I found the show entertaining, with the exception of the season opener when Jon showed up late in a sports car and acted so distant. Who the crap is going to keep paying for his hair plugs? He needs to chill.

I personally think he wants out of it all, marriage, kids, & show. That is just the impression I get, maybe I am wrong. Like I said earlier, I think he is a bit spoiled & selfish. If he doesn't get the attention he wants, he's ready to bolt. Yes, I know Kate could be a bit of a pain in the rear, but he did say I do at the wedding, I'm sure.

I seen that sports car he came in driving. He also complained when he was on camera getting out that she forgot the cake, and her phone and he had to make two trips back to the house....well boo hoo, she set up the place and got all those kids there..where was he in all that? Oh yeah..he wanted the weekend off!

I think she is a bitch with a capital B. She has always been in it for what ever she could get, and is a control freak.

He is VERY unhappy, you can see it from last season. But he is also or was.. whooped. she is such a condesending, rude person, and he is spineless.

I have never liked the show, I only watch it when I am too lazy to change the TV after Little People big world. dont ask... I like the show... BR says I like things in miniture, cause I am so short, i like things smaller than normal. (mini horses, banty chickens, teeny dogs. or REALLY BIG stuff. mastiffs, etc. )


anyway, I wasnt suprised, and I havent been suprised at anything I have read. I didnt see the show, had I known there was gona be some drama, I might have. Like I said, I just honestly dont like the woman. And I feel sorry for her kids. I admit, I am crazy as a loon, with 4 I scream, holler, throw things I trip over, and threaten them with in an inch of their lives. BUT, I think she is manipulative, highstrung, highmaintence, arrogant and condesending. Its always her way or the highway. and I find that to be extreamly offputting.

Of course, John is lazy, and not real hands on. He had a job before hand, and so did she. granted, she couldnt work now, but you dont have to sign a book deal, or a TV contract to provide for a large family. I know plenty of large families that grew up with one bathroom, 3 kids or more in a bedroom and not alot of material things. Just cause you spit out more than the normal amount of kids doesnt make you worthy of millions. IMHO.

I know that its hard to just survive on a normal salery with a large family. There are 6 of us, and although BR makes times more than he did for the state as a prison sgt a mere 5 years ago, we are STILL not ridin high on the hog. More kids takes more money, I agree. But there is ALOT you dont see on TV. The nannies, the STATE paid nannie that she went balistic over loosing, bodyguards, maids, family members that help. There is alot more than what they 'welcome' you into their home to see.
