Re: kind of excited..
When my son was younger he asked me if we were poor because we only had one bathroom. Even my sister's mobile home had 2 bathrooms. It can be done, but I greatly prefer the privacy that more bathrooms give you.

Re: kind of excited..
LOL! Our house was just built before there was indoor plumbing available in the area. The bathroom and kitchen were additions. There was a kitchen, but they expanded it to put in a sink and washer.
I think the one bathroom works for us because of two reasons. One, everyone's in good health. Two, the kids take their showers at their daily swim practice for nine months out of the year.

Re: kind of excited..
For me having one bathroom wouldn't be bad. JJ takes his showers at night. He always had to because when Wynonna was living here she would take her showers in the morning. I shower after Kris goes to work. To be honest in the 9 years we have lived here I don't think we have ever had anyone have to use one bathroom because someone was in the other.

Re: kind of excited..
The appraiser came and left. We looked at a house last night..it was very nice..but over our price range..we have an appt to look at the Van Buren Rd house on Feb 1st.. they are still living in the house. The appt couldn't be any sooner because both the husband and wife work and have kids and civic group stuff they are involved in, and I imagine they want to stage the house and clean too. It's fine with me, we can always look at other things that may pop up between now and then. We have some laminate flooring we need to lay down in JJ's old room anyway and Kris took Mon and Tues off of next week to do it. I just have to get the old rug out and prepare the floor

Re: kind of excited..
I like 2 bathrooms because 1) no kids allowed in my bathroom....actually, no kids allowed within 3 feet of my bedroom door unless they are on fire or bleeding prfusely.
2) I have the BIG bathtub, and I like to soak...this can take hours, and the door is locked.
3) see number 1

Re: kind of excited..
2 bathrooms are essential for us... Kelly if you're planning to stay until forever (haha)... as you get older the blader and other functions happen often and you just can't time around the partner... 2 bathrooms have always worked just fine for Chuck and I... couldn't imagine anything any other way...
and on that note, when we have company, we of course give up one bathroom exclusively to the guests... so there are times, when I'm on the pot, and Chuck will come and in, saying hurry... well sometimes you just can't... so he's been known to pee in the tub LOL
Hey you youngins, that's life and something you have to look forward to

Re: kind of excited..
Well, we start on JJ"s room this weekend only to move soon ..lol.. I told JJ that's okay though because wherever we go that his room will be in the condition that it we will only need to paint and get new bedding. It feels really weird. In this house is the longest I have ever lived anywhere (other than my childhood home). We've been here a few months short of 10 years. I am glad to be moving..it feels strange though.. So we are going to concentrate on getting what we need finished here done. Wait for our appt to look at the Van Buren Rd house, in the meantime if any new ones come up she's going to set us up to view them. That's about all we can do.

Re: kind of excited..
I have pics of the house we looked at the night before last. I can post them..though I don' t know that I should. There are about 15 of them.. I don't know if I want to take up a ton of space on this thread, it was a really nice house..though more than we want to spend, supposedly the seller is negotiable though it's been for sale for a while. Starting price on it is $139,000.

If you're considering it, post a few. That way we can supply a few Oohs and Aahs.

Re: kind of excited..
ok, here they are ..this is a 4 bedroom, 1 3/4 bath, with attached garage and finished basement, with a large deck out back. I didn't take pics of the deck and 3/4 bath though. The way it's situated is kitchen, livingroom, 3 bedrooms and 1 bath on the main floor. Then the finished basement has a large family room area, a 3/4 bath and a big bedroom, there is also a laundry room in the basement as well. This is the listing online

here are the pics i took (about 14 or 15)

Re: kind of excited..
Lots of room in that house. I would ask that the moose stay. My BIL/SIL have a deer mount that carried over from the previous owner. They named him Biff.

Re: kind of excited..
Oh no..I felt sick looking at the moose..It was a beautiful animal before it was gunned down..It should be out in the woods, not on a wall..there were also various animal pelts here and there too..<blechh> If I were to go there (which I doubt he would come down enough in price) he could take all the dead animals with him.

I am with you on that one one Kelly. I do not do dead trophies. They skeeve me right out.
Re: kind of excited..
I like the idea of a ranch style house. I always had a house with stairs, but now we have a ranch style. Much easier on me as I age, and easier on my old pets too. I know there may be stairs to the basement, but still no second floor to the main living space is some thing I have really learned to love!

Re: kind of excited..
My parents moved a few years ago into a house that should be really great as they age. The basement has it's own entrance, kitchen, bath, and laundry. They spend most of their time there. The upstairs (main house) also has all that. If they ever need to have a live-in care giver, or even just need extra income from a renter, they are all set. My mom loves how she doesn't have to maintain all of it. They just spruce up the upstairs when family is coming to visit. But if/when they have company, there is plenty of room.

Looks like we might be making an offer tomorrow after our 2nd viewing of the Dahlgren St house folks...cross your fingers and toes and pray for me!

Best of luck to you. Too bad that other place couldn't schedule a showing sooner. I guess they don't care how soon they sell.

Can't find it in the thread... is that the last one you posted pictures with the dead animals?
If so... good luck.. and if you get it, please one of the first remodels... get rid of all that stenciling - ish! But the house itself looks good and sounds like a nice layout.

Re: kind of excited..
Yes it's the second set of pics I posted (about 14 pics)Stenciling would be the first to go...lol It would be a little while though before I figure out what color I want on the walls..so I may have to stare at it for a month..I don't know we'll see what happens. When I called this morning to make a second appt I was curious and asked her how long it had been on the market. She told me that she would just pull the file and look. She couldn't find the file so she had to let me go and call me back. The reason she couldn't find the file is because one of her fellow agents had pulled it, an agent from another realty had someone who was interested in seeing the information packet on it. So hubby said that he will probably make an offer on it tomorrow and see what happens...we are all in agreement that we would be extremely disappointed if we missed our chance at this house and probably would not be happy with anything else that's available..so here's hoping things go well..
