Okay Kelly, now I'm getting antsy LOL... hope you hear something one way or the other soon... if the other, then you'd have a chance to look at and coinsider other houses.

Re: kind of excited..
Ughh I swear, we just can't catch a break..the guy hmmed and hawwed about our counter offer and decided not to do anything because there's someone coming up from downstate to look at the house tomorrow. So meanwhile we're thinking if they are from downstate, they have money..this is one of the nicer properties in this price range we probably don't stand a chance. The real estate has our earnest money sitting there until this guy makes up his friggin mind..and I can't see anything available that has everything this house has...so right now I am pretty upset..actually we all are. I know I shouldn't get upset unless we are told that those people offered on it (which hasn't happened yet) but I always seem to have the worst luck.. I was just hoping for once something might turn out the way I wanted..I'm even pissed that I'm feeling sorry for myself because I know that I should be happy with what I have..I'm just having one of those days..

Re: kind of excited..
Aw, sorry Kelly... I'm sure it's a dissapoinment, but the deal isn't over yet. And if it does fall thru, then I'm thinking Karma... what's meant to be. There could be another house out there for you... that just hasn't shown up yet. Everything happens for a reason. I know that doesn't make you feel good... but just be patient... maybe there's structural things wrong with the house... and had he accepted the offer and you had the inspection, only to find horrible repairs needed... that would be a disappointment too. It's not over yet, so dont give up... the next party to look may not like or make a offer much higher than yours... I know, it's hard... but have faith.

I was thinking just what she said. Sometimes we think we have bad luck when we don't get something we think we want. However, it can be a blessing in disguise. There could be a really crappy neighbor there that you know nothing about. Could be a lots of things. I went through lots of disappointment trying to buy a house, back in the 90's. We even lost $500 earnest money. Then it turned out that we needed to move to another state. We would have been in deep trouble had we gotten the house we lost the money on. That is why I try my best to word prayers I say, to ask God to do what will be best for me, instead of what I think I want to happen. Have faith and try to enjoy this exciting time in your life.

Re: kind of excited..
Hang in there Kelly! The house is not sold yet. I know you guys were aware that someone had an appt to look at it today, and honestly, if I was selling my house I would definitely take every opportunity to show it. It could mean a higher offer. Then again - maybe not! Maybe the other couple that's coming to see it is looking in a higher price range, too, and they won't think as highly of this one as you do. Maybe it just won't fit their needs. Maybe their time line isn't as fast as yours is and they won't be able or willing to top your offer right now.

Re: kind of excited..
The seller had until 5pm to give us a reply whether he would accept our counter offer, or whether he would counter back..or drop it all together. The realtor called just a couple minutes before 5. The people that looked at the house today had no interest in it. So he made a counter offer of $131,000. with him paying all the closing costs..

Re: kind of excited..
Congrats! now lets keep our fingers crossed the home inspection goes well... if not, you can demand the seller pay for any repairs needed... stick to your guns... sounds like he's now ready to seal the deal...

Re: kind of excited..
Our offer was contingent on appraisal and inspection. We would never make a purchase that big without doing an inspection. This house is about 16 miles closer to Kris' work. That means it will cut 32 miles a day off his trip to work..it will also cut out all the extra trips to town because we will be living right in town.. We will be able to bundle phone, cable and internet services which we couldnt' do out here because cable is not available. Thanks everyone for your congratulations..!

Re: kind of excited..
Kris met with the bank today and applied for the actual loan(before was pre-qualification). We should know at the end of the week if we are approved. The loan officer said it shouldn't be a problem. Then we have to set up appraisal and inspection.
I am on Amazon right now. I have $53.00 promotional credit. I am debating whether to get something like a few organizational things (such as a rack that clips to the shelf to put aluminum foil and plastic wrap in) or a clip in rack for spice bottles) or whether I should get something like a lighted address sign for the front of the new house, or dust mop for all the wood floors, or something for pleasure like a couple Yankee candles...tough decision..I want them all! lol It's funny..you'd think since I have been moved out of my childhood home for 19 years that I would have everything. But all of that stuff has been put on the back burner for all of these years..

Re: kind of excited..
I opted for Yankee candles on Amazon (only because I had the Amazon credit)..they are a little indulgence for me. I bought 2 that I have never smelled before. I had wanted a 22oz regular Buttercream, but on Amazon the only Buttercream Yankees they had were 14.5 oz. So instead I ordered Strawberry Buttercream, and Christmas Cupcake.. anyone ever tried these scents? If so, how does the Strawberry Buttercream compare with the plain and is the Christmas cupcake any good?

Re: kind of excited..
The house I played bunco tonight, the host was burning candles. Lots of good smells... in fact, I thought the gal next to me was drinking flavored coffee... turns out is was a Yankee Candel, Christmas Cookies (smelled like fresh baked cookies. Another time when I sat with the coffee drinker, no candel near by... and the coffee smell like, well just coffee - ick! I have to think the Christmas cupcake has to be as good as the Christmas Cookies!
