What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
So what was your Favorite Christmas gift of all time??
Mine was a huge brown teddy bear it was nothing fancy -I think I was like 3 years old and I remember coming out of my room on christmas morning and seeing that Huge bear under the tree and it was bigger than me and I remember screaming IT"S MINE .. I had that bear until a few years ago and it was full of those little white beads and it had seen better days and the beads where fallling out and I finally had to throw it away -- My husband said I had a tear in my eye... and he started humming taps.......

Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
When I was about 9 or 10, I got a copy of Dragonsinger by Anne McCaffrey and a friend of my mom made me a robe. It was one of the kind you pull over your head and it was made out of sweatpants material (and robes did not come in that stuff back then). I put on the robe, laid down on the sofa and read the entire book in one day. I'd kind of liked sci-fi before that, but that book sealed the deal. I was a sci-fi addict from then on.
Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
hmmm, this is a tough one.
It would defnetely be the Christmas that DH bought me a car. He was so sneaky about it, he got a puzzle and a matchbox car, and wrapped them wiht the keys. He had hidden the car in the garage with a giant red bow on top. It was a 1990 Honda accord, and I still have it, and it still runs and drives good as new.
That was the only year he used his imagination....

Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
My dog, I was given him for Christmas when I was 13. He was born on Dec 6th, and those last few weeks between Christmas and him being old enough to take home was the longest few weeks of my life (well until I got to be 9 months pregnant- THOSE were the longest weeks). He died this past summer and I still cry thinking about him.
Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
((((hugs tara!))) I will be the same way about Duke.
The first thing that comes to mind is the Barbie dream house when I was about 8.
BUT, BR did give me an engagement ring on CHristmas and ask me to marry him when I was 17.
Then there was the 20 guage when I was 20 that BR gave me..
OH and Brett was due Dec 23. But came the 16th.
And in 03 Matt had asked Santa for a baby sister. and I gave him an ultrasound Christmas morning.
so I am going with the barbie house. or the gun...

Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
A pair of shoes I found in the back of my mom's car. She told me they were for my aunt and I believed her! They were exactly the pair I wanted, too. On Christmas morning, I was delighted that they had really been for me. BTW, I still have a typewriter I got for Christmas in 1958. That was my dad's idea because they wanted me to do well in school and learn to type. That was precious.
Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
My soon to be 11 year old son was born on Christmas morning. I can think of no gift I loved more, or that I ever will! Of course I cried for HIM all the way to the hospital! I was horrified that he was going to be born on Christmas, for his sake, not for mine!

Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
thats why I prayed my oldest wasnt born on his due date or after. being a Nov baby I knew how bad that was. And I hate that he was born 9 days before Christmas.
I think thats why I let him celebrate with the next boy in April.

Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
His due date was January 8th, but I KNEW that he was going to be born on Christmas. It's funny because my brother is a Christmas baby too! I also have a Thanksgiving baby, and I don't think it's any better for him! At least I have one that's born in August! LOL!

Lets see, you're talking to the person who has recieved a red rat snake, two left boots, a couple used books, etc... lol
I would have to say toe socks! When I was a tween, toe socks had come out and everyone I knew had them, though I didn't get them until the Christmas after they became popular but I loved them the same. I still remember they were magenta, pink, and white striped and I had the hardest time getting my toes in lol

Re: What was your favorite Christmas gift of all time?
Mine always makes me cry when I think about it. You have to know some background.. My parents got divorced and back together many times... For many years I never even saw my dad except once or twice a year it seemed like.
Anyway, when I was about 14 they had split up once again, but this time I decided to live with my dad.. He had a little tiny one bedroom house and my "bedroom" was a mattress in the dining room area.. we had NOTHING.. literally..
We did put up a little Christmas tree in my "bedroom".. For some reason we must have been in the "city" (not a city at all) often because we always went to this little mom and pop store.. while my dad was getting his stuff, I would wander around and they had all these beautiful jewelry boxes. This was way back when and they had just come out with these jewelry boxes shaped like armoirs and dressers, complete with the mirrors and drawers.. I would wander around and open each little drawer and turn the music key on each one.. I just loved these things.
Come Christmas Eve, I went to my boyfriends house (now my ex husband) and I remember his grandma giving me a sweater and I cried.. It felt so great to be included in this "family" and I knew they hadn't really expected me but had thought of me.. During dinner my bf's mom mentioned they should have invited my dad.. Well NOW I felt like crap.. here it was Christmas Eve and I hadn't even thought of what my dad would be doing for Christmas Eve dinner. I knew he was cooking a giant fish but hadn't thought of who he would share it with and he never complained about my leaving.
When I got home.. there was ONE present under the tree.. it was from my dad and it was one of those jewelry boxes, shaped like a dresser and it even had the little mirror..
I held on to that until I was about 24 and it finally got lost in a move.
