A lovely weekend
I'm almost afraid of jinxing it all, but this weekend has been so nice. The weather has been perfect and this weekend was the Spoonbread Festival, which is a little local thing with all the usual rides and games and music and a parade. I took Zaven and Caly on Friday after school and they had a wonderful day. Scott watched the little ones until dark, when we came back and got everyone then drove back to see the hot air balloon glow. Quinn had an upset stomach and didn't feel good, but even so he was fascinated and excited. Then I dropped Scott and the little ones back at home and drove to the next town over with Zaven and Caly to wait for the midnight release of the final book in the Eragon series. I won the drawing for an autographed endplate to put in the book so it would be a signed copy. I still had to pay for the book, but it was a nice treat. I thought about buying one to read and one to put the bookplate in to sell, but decided not to because they do love this series and this would make it even more special.
Today, Zaven and Caly stayed home and cleaned house (to make up for getting EVERYTHING they wanted yesterday) and while Quinn napped, I took Zoe to the festival. It was just the two of us and she got a balloon and went on all the inflatable toys (free!) and to the booths that had games for kids. Then we watched the parade and she got bunches of candy. Then we got cotton candy and a snow cone (her first) and sat and ate and talked. She was so happy, and I think a big part of it was being able to have my undivided attention. Then we headed home and she fell asleep in the car. Quinn had been asleep the whole time, and the house was MUCH cleaner when I got home, so that was a treat. There's still a lot to do, but it was cool to not be the one cleaning up for a change.

Re: A lovely weekend
The book is out?????? Finally man we have been waiting for ever. I will have to tell MIL to go buy it... and cross my fingers she is reading something else so I get it first, usually I get first go because I return them the next day, I am by far the fastest. I hate waiting for the SIL's who take WEEEEEEKKKKKKKS to read a book.
Re: A lovely weekend
I pretend they aren't here, lol. No, I just have to stay off the computer and I can read a book after they go to bed and before Robby gets home.
Re: A lovely weekend
