OMG, I'm not usually into movies like that, but I love Steel Magnolias...especially the part where Olympis Dukakis pushes Shirley McClaine in front of Sally Field and says "Hit her!"

Call me weird but I got a kick out of Fried Green Tomatoes.

Anything, and I mean anything, with Charlton Heston! I got into him through his distopia sci-fi roles (like Soylent Green and Planet of the Apes), and then it was a slippery slope into his religious movies!

I'm also a HUGE fan of director Akira Kurasawa's work like The Seven Samurai. His stuff got me into an absolutely amazing Japanese actor named Toshiro Mifune. He's another one I could watch in anything.

WOW... all of the above are among my favorites too... The Fisher King... gads, doubt it's even available nowadays....

and Johnny Deep... well not so thrilled with his last one.... McSweeny? or whatever, but overall... Edward Sissorhands... way cool

Lord of the Rings Trilogy are by far my favorites. Nothing comes close.

Mists of Avalon is a favorite book of mine and I have avoided the movie somewhat because of that but my husband is away (in england) and I am doing a girly movie fest. You know I enjoyed watching it but I think that I had very low expectations. Are you a Phillip Pullman fan?
