Sounds like spam to me! And this is the whole reason I gave mypoints a shot and thought it sucked bigtime already. No

I am happy to be geeting the gift cards since I wasn't able to get the rewards from BzzAgent before they were all gone and it was quite frustrating. I'd rather get something than nothing.

the only link
I shop through is Upromise. This kinda, no it does suck. 40% is not the least bit surprising for them though. I hope anyone who hasn;t signed up yet isn;t using the bzzagent link and giving them a damn thing. I think it's pretty shitty of them. They get paid for OUR work.

Well, I don't see myself as a "stupid, stupid" person... I AM jumping for joy. Here's why: I've been a BzzAgent for a few years and under the old system NEVER got a darn thing. Under this system, I have almost 10,000 points to use on MyPoints. I'm a longtime MyPoints user and have found them extremely reliable and fair - You can get points just for doing little surveys they send you on occasion (if you select to receive them) and 10 points even when you don't qualify or the survey's already closed. You can get points just for shopping at online stores most of us already shop at. And now with the points I already have, I qualify for a $100 gift card almost anywhere I want.... Now a $100 gift card vs. a handful of Bzz Trolls? I'll take the giftcard, thank you. I love that I can combine points I get from BzzAgent with points I get from online shopping (I've gotten about $100 worth of giftcards from MyPoints in the last year just from using a link from them to buy what I would have bought anyway) and doing surveys. For me, there is no downside to this.

Not be a nitpicker here, but ....

Say you get 10 points for not qualifying for a survey. doesn't that mean that you have to do 140 of those to get enough to qualify for a giftcard? Isn't that a LOT of work for a $10 giftcard???

Dragon Butch -- will you still feel the same when your 10 000 points has the same "purchasing power" that 6000 would have under the old system? Do you feel that the work you've already done for BzzAgent at a certain rate should be devalued by 40% ? I only have 1863 points right now and I'm fuming that they're taking so much for work that I completed in good faith.

"Say you get 10 points for not qualifying for a survey. doesn't that mean that you have to do 140 of those to get enough to qualify for a giftcard? Isn't that a LOT of work for a $10 giftcard???"

Well, MyPoints isn't a survey site. So to use the "s-word" again (haha), anyone who signs up to MyPoints just to do surveys probably is... well, if not stupid than a bit mis-led! The surveys are just a bonus. I get most of my points (I have over 1000 in my account right now, I got $50 worth of gift cards from them last month and this is what is left over) are from doing what their main "thing" is... Doing my online shopping using the merchant links on their site. They have links to most of the merchants I use so I book my flights, bought my Mac, buy my clothing and my over the counter meds all through MyPoints. That's what their main thing is, and that's how I use them. The 50 points I get for completing occasional surveys, and 10 points just for clicking through to ones I don't qualify for... Those are just bonuses. And they do sometimes help me get from one reward level to another. If you feel they're not worth your time you can look at my thread about "how not to get spam from mypoints" and ask to not receive survey e-mails.

(PS I think I said in another thread that you get points for dead surveys - I just looked and this isn't true, at least anymore. bummer. but i guess it's only fair.)

Rebecca - I think for me it is absolutely fair because under the old system I was never going to qualify for a reward anyway, because I couldn't be in front of my computer all the time and I don't get loads of campaigns so for the several years I've Bzz'ed, I've never once gotten even a stupid keychain. Do I think it's fair for you and others who apparently were getting rewards under the old system, or at least waiting to get good rewards and thinking you might actually get them at some point? No, I don't. As I wrote in another thread, I think they have basically decided that people like that have to give up some of their purchasing power for all the people who never would have gotten rewards under the old system - To them giving mediocre rewards to everyone is better than giving great rewards to a few people. And after reading what people have posted, I can see how that makes folks angry and how it makes people feel screwed over. I don't personally feel anything but happy (for myself, that is) but I can understand peoples' disappointment.

Just to correct you on one thing. I've been a BzzAgent for 2 years and gotten one reward. Not because I sit at the computer all day, but because I'm Canadian and most Canadian agents don't have piles of rewards points because we don't get very many campaigns. I waited for almost 2 years to get an iPod Shuffle. I didn't get it by pouncing on it, I got it because most Canadians get frustrated and leave the program when they don't get a campaign for months at a time. I was patient, not quick!

Your new rewards system is almost here! We've teamed up with MyPoints, the rewards experts, who will accept all of your BzzPoints to exchange for rewards. Every BzzPoint you have is worth 8 MyPoints!

That's on Step 2 off bzzagent's transfer your points page, olive.

Spamma Lamma for sure, idatater! I used to be a member but opted out a while back but there are still emails coming from a few of their promotions. One of the is Survey Networks which should Survey Networrisome. I don't care how many times I designate it as spam, it still ends up in my mailbox. However, as I posted before, it was my Yahoo account so it just sits there with the other spam until I delete them all. But it won't go away...
