You still use one and two dollar bills as well as loonies and toonies, don't you?

The stores still accept them if people have them, but it is not very often. They don't make the $1 and $2 bills anymore.

They haven't made them here in years! I think I was in college when they discontinued the $2 bill and the dollar bill was gone before then.

I found a $1 and a $2 bill as well as a toonie. We'll have a hot time in Vancouver with all this loot. Very Happy

We'll only be there for an overnight on the 2nd. We board our cruise ship to Alaska at Canada Place on the 3rd.

Canada went to the metal coins and stopped printing paper. I don't know why - those suckers are heavy in your pockets. Must take up a lot of room in a change purse, too.

I drive my boyfriend crazy because I collect coins and roll them up once/year.
This year I saved $446.00

He gets cranky when I use a $5 bill to pay for a bottle of pop or something.
He says it gets expensive because he never sees the change until I roll it up.

Valerie, they say that people save more money when they save coins like that than when they grab up all the change they can find and use it to buy stuff. So tell your boyfriend it's scientifically proven that a coin jar at home is a good thing. He should be thanking you.

I'm so used to the loony and twoony now I don't even notice how heavy they get. Plus it's a nice surprise every once in a while when I think I have quarters in my wallet and they end up being twoonies Very Happy
