Dinner time Empty Dinner time

Post by thebigscott Sun Apr 20, 2008 7:28 pm

So what are you having?

I let the kids fix frozen TV dinners as a treat for helping clean house all day. (Plus they have a coupon for a free game of bowling on the back that I'd like to use before it expires.)

For me and Scott? I don't know. We're running way late tonight and have just been snacking, but I may want to fix an actual meal for just us after the kids go to bed. You know, kinda like a date... only cheaper!

Well, I have ribs in the oven along with bakes potatoes. Have asparagus ready to steam and a green salad in the fridge. Probably be peaches for dessert- since I didn't bake.

My hubby would actually prefer hot cereal- he is so strange. Have had him 43 years, so no hope of remodeling him now.

Scott and I had a very late (10pm) dinner of Ziti in a Vodka Sauce (store bought, but nice) after all the kids were finally in bed, and watched the first episode of the season of Battlestar Galactica that's been on my DVR for weeks, waiting until we could finally both watch it together.

I am a huge fan of chips.. but I a a purist.. don't think those would appeal to me.
Chocolate covered popcorn is another thing entirely, or popcorn on ice cream ... yummy!

Brought 4 dozen eggs from my sister's chickens home with me on Saturday so tonight I made a quiche with mushrooms, onions & cheese - first one I've made in years! Had it in the oven long before the hockey game started - BTW, Montreal is up 3 - 0 over Boston at the end of 2 periods! GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!

Meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, and green beans here. As soon as I made the meatloaf I realized I should have made the beef into Swedish meatballs instead. Oh well.

It was good! I should have fixed a salad, too, because I'm allergic to corn so all I had was meat and carbs.... but the caveman in me thought that was just fine.
