Re: So... what for dinner?!?
It was t-ball night here so just chicken fingers, fries, and mixed veg here.
Re: So... what for dinner?!?
mmm... I love chicken salad chelle! Do you make it fruity or with vegetables?? I only really know how to make it fruity, but want to get some vegetable recipes.
Tim and I decided that with all the BBQ'ing that we had done over the weekend and next few days thereafter earned us a night off of cooking, plus, I got a coupon from the local grocer giving us a free pizza, so I sent him to pick up that and the ingrediants for tomorrow's dinner.
Jambalaya. mmmm.... yum I make it boxed style, Zatarans. But we love it so much and it turns into 2 meals for us. =)

Re: So... what for dinner?!?
missy... I dont put veggies in my chicken salad..?? OH wait. I think we have a differnt name for it. This is kinda like Tuna Fish.
Boil chicken, debone and shred.
add eggs (boiled) (I put 6 for 4 chicken breasts)
miricle whip (some idiots use mayo.. YUCK)
mix up real good.
Salt and pepper
a tablespoon or so of dill relish
a few squirts of mustard.
a chopped up apple.
Thats it. same recipe for TUna, except you dont use chicken, use drained tuna. (in oil)
and same thing for tater salad, except you dont put in apples and you put in drained pimenitoes.
erin, thats what we had earilier. Except I didnt do green beans, I did corn, I have started mixing up a can of drained whole kernal and a can of creamed. it turns out good. But why didnt you make biscuts?? If you have gravy you have to have biscuts. and if you have taters you HAVE to have gravy... LOL
OMG Kelly.. I want a cheeseburger SOOO bad. SOOOO freakin bad. I will have to get some buns. Big ole juicy welfare burger (anyone else old enough to remember Eddie Murphy in Raw?) with cheese. drippin down your arm.. oooooohhhhhhhhhh that sounds soooo good. LOL

Re: So... what for dinner?!?
I can still quote that, and I saw it when I was VERY young. I snuck down the stairs while my grandparents were watching it after I went to bed. Heck, till then I didnt know it had a name... LOL we just called them hamburgers. It was all I ever got. maybe once a year I'd get McDonalds.. Usually when we went to the city we had to eat at Luby's.
Re: So... what for dinner?!?
Yeah, I know what that's like. We had Mc D's maybe once a year too and the thing was that it was usually a treat when we were out and about and I had a friend with me. The crappy part was that mom would get us one happy meal to share, and my friend got to keep the toy lol.

Re: So... what for dinner?!?
mmm... See I make a fruity chicken salad
chicken diced (2 cups)
cut up apples (1 large)
cut up grapes (1 cup, quatered)
mayo (1/3 cup)
apple cider vinegar (2 tsp)
lemon juice (1 tbs)
salt & pepper to taste
I then use white-wheat bread toasted and romaine lettuce
Sometimes I will cut up the bread and mix it all, minus the lettuce, up in a bowl. mmm yum
I will repost this and a few other recipes in the recipe section.
I would like to see the homemade jambalaya recipe if at all possible. I have been wanting to rely on the boxes less and less and have been getting better at cooking. These kinda meals then last us more than one night, so I prefer them. =)
I am not too young to remember RAW, but I am not a fan of Eddie Murphy, so most of what he has done, even in stand-up, I have blocked, though I am sure that I just say the word Welfare burger to Tim, and he will do the whole bit. he had a dream a few years ago to do stand-up. But he is kind stage shy.
