Re: Snow
I was wondering why one of you would post about snow... it's all over the news... TX and LA, and GA and SC and even Nashville! Then of course there's the northern storm going on... nephew in Grand Rapids MI now has 12 inches... since the middle of last night! Thankfully, none in our forecast... just cold, well and then I guess that's relative... highs in the mid to upper 40's for the next week.
For all you real southerners... sorry about the snow, as much as I know some actually do like it... but then if I lived in TX or LA... I probably would too, because you'd know it'd be gone about as quickly as it came! (we need a snowman icon)

Re: Snow
Took these around 10 am and posted them on Facebook:
It's not too bad now. The lake effect snow advisory is until 6 pm Saturday, but what came down so far has been cleaned off the roads. We were able to drive down to Gaylord (an hour south) to do some Christmas shopping.

Re: Snow
It melted as soonas it hit the ground, dh did have alot on the truck when he got home, which he promtply made into a wet ball and threw at me
Frankly, I dislike cold weather, and could have done without the rain/sleet/snow, but Bayley loved it. She has seen snow on the ground, but never falling out of the sky...so she was entertained.

Re: Snow
I'll take snow over hot. I hate being really hot or really cold. I don't mind snow, it's pretty. In fact snow is good, it means it's not that cold. Hubby plows the driveway and I hibernate. If the fuel oil was free I would love winter, lol. Once upon a time before children when I had money and free time to do things I lived for winter. Snowmobiling, snowboarding, sledding......
Re: Snow
yep- we had it here, and now my kids are really bitching about the cold weather.
They want to eat breakfast, but everyone slept late and when they went down to the barn they fuond they had ALOT more work than normal.
All the rabbit waters have to be brought in and thawed, the chicken waterer has to be thawed out and so does the sick chickens water.
The hogs and horses tubs have to be cracked and everyone needs more hay.
The steps are ice and they are slipping on them,
they really want to get it done- they dont get to eat breakfast until everything is fed and watered. and we leave here before 10 for tag in for 4-H. If they dont get on the ball, they will have to wait till tag ins over at noon to even eat breakfast.
They are thankful that it isnt a school day though- they'd have had to done all this at 5am instead of 7:30.

Our snow didnt stick either, but it did get down to the mid 20's last night. thats why the water and everything else froze.

Re: Snow
It wasn't in the forecast, but we got about an inch of snow last night. It's nice sticky snowball snow, too. For those of you who rarely see snow, it comes in different levels of sticky-ness. Some snow is like a dry powder and you can't make snowballs out of it. It won't stick together. This stuff is perfect for snowballs.
Re: Snow
I wish we'd hurry up and get some snow -- I'm supposed to be in a snow belt, but so far we've only had a light sprinkling! An hour or so away from us has had a fair amount though.
Re: Snow
Rebecca, funny that you in Canada has no snow, but yet in the deep sound and southern states, they've overwhelmed! May you have snow soon, if that is truly what you want (o-e-vay!)
