and since I'm in the supper thread, it's scrambled eggs, buttermilk pancakes, and sausage patties for supper tonight (we rarely eat that kind of food during the breakfast hours)... and along with that, I'll be taking about 11 vitamins and herbal supplements... Because I have to admit, I'm one of those people who doesn't necessarily eat the right foods or combinations... I eat what I like. And that's not much lol!

I think it is the crap, preservatives and so on, not to mention irradiation that is making our food..
regardless of its so called nutritional value. .. that is making our food more of a hazard half the time than a benefit.

What we do to our food, environment and ourselves with chemicals ... not good

No

having said that.. we still have to eat to live..

I am hungry and pancakes and sausage and eggs sound very good.

Interesting you mention that Kath. One of the side benefits we got from going organic/less refined was that my 10 year old stopped bouncing off the walls. Seems he's got some sensitivities to msg and dyes in food. It took about a month after we made the switch (about 2 years ago) to see a difference. The fact that we changed because we felt it was right, and not because we were trying to calm him down made it easier. We're so programmed for quick fixes. It drives me nuts when parents whose children are hyper active won't even try to change their diet!! Or if they do, they try for a week and say it's not working. Not every case of hyperactivity is food related, but I always think the natural way is the easiest and safest.

When I try telling my parents that this is the best way to eat, they just tell me that I ate that junk growing up and I'm fine. Well, I try to explain that it's not the SAME junk, that it was actually HEALTHY in comparison to health food today. Goes in one ear, out the other. The FDA has approved all these additives, so how can they possibly be bad, right?? LOL! Smile

Tonight its leftover night. I hate throwing away food. Kids are having whatever there is in the fridge accompanied by caesar salad.

Not sure what hubby and I are having..we're debating on whether to go to the casino tonight or tomorrow night. If we go tonite we'll probably try to clog our arteries at taco bell he's been craving that lol

As in KY and many other souther states, mac & cheese seems to be the veggie (?) side (?) or main course of everyone... well except me... I hate that stuff. Well one time I liked it, Chuck made a great batch... but the sad part, he doesn't necessarily follow a recipe, so a good batch may come one day and he never remembers what he did to make it so good.

Way to go girl, there is a lot of good for our bodies that comes from a glass of wine each day, or 2, or 3 or heck, a bottle Razz
