How cold is it at your house?

Pretty danged cold here, 26 or so tonite thanks to this Alberta Clipper we got, and then a warming trend. I am SO ready for spring.....So how cold is it at your house?

Just had to go out and it was 15F on my car thermometer, suppose to get to zero with windchill -15.....too freakin cold in my opinion.

It is -17C (2F) with a windchill of -25C (-13F). That being said, I went to take the garbage up my driveway (very long) with no jacket. Just my sweater and I wasn't cold at all. We also had the heat off most of the day as well and it didn't get cold in the house until this evening when it got dark outside.

I have no idea what the windchill factor is but the themometer on the porch is reading 3F. So it's flipping cold. painful cold where your nose hairs freeze when you breath. Furnace has run nonstop today.

Its getting down to 23 tonight. tomorrow it will be up to 45.

Yeah, we have burned thru a few 30 # bottles of propane in the last few days, 3 bottles in 5 days I think. TOO freaking cold IMO.

Aurora honey, if I walked outside when it was -13F my bones would flash freeze, you are made of sterner stuff than I am.

the news just said it is 12 here, and will 1 in the morning. We are sleeping our extreme cold weather sleeping bags tonight. we only have electric heaters and a wood burning stove, and I don't plan to set my alarm to get up and keep putting wood in it. I miss the summer.

Erin- I would melt there on any given day 9 months of the year, lol. Once it hits 80 I am laying in front of the AC thinking I am going to die.

I got out my long handles, the thick red ones with the flap! I am not gonna freeze to death.....

I really dislike cold weather, give me 80, 90, even 100, and I am happy.

I am sitting here sweating at 73. of course I have a kid on me that is 102.

I prefer 77*. thats just my happy degree. I wear sweats all summer and winter in the house. BR keeps it cold. LOL

It was -27 (yes, 27 degrees below zero, farenheit) this morning with a wind chill around -40. I actually wore my gloves this morning while I was waiting for the bus.
We are expecting similar temps tonight.


Only in Minnesota do people brag about how dang cold it is. The local weather man was on CNN this morning pounding a nail into a board with a frozen banana.

I saw that, and wondered why people live there.LOL

Wellll yesterday, it was a balmy 48 here in SW KY. But today, well just too cold. We made it to 18 around 4 this afternoon (only because we had sun) but tonight, well right now, it's 9. It starts warming up again tomorrow when we'll go to 24 LOL... As for windchill? Don't really care. It's just cold. Way too cold.

And I'm sorry to be complaining when so many of you are in much colder temps. Gads! Where is that Global Warming????

I'm with you on that one. I love the spring and summer, and have been waiting on spring since September!
Right now it is down to 9 F, now they are saying we will be in negative digits tonight. I could never live in Canada...I'd freeze to death.

We're down to -4, the weatherman says we MAY get into positive numbers tomorrow with a possible high of 5. They are already listing school closings... not ours yet. I wish they would so I could just shut of the alarm and sleep til noon. I'm sure they will close but I'll have to actually wake up to see and once I'm up, I'm up.

School or not there is NO WAY I would get out in that kind of weather/ It got to 4F here in 89, I never left the couch....

After pearly's twitter yesterday I am wanting spring SOOO bad..

actually, I was hot today. all I had on was a hoodie, and it was about 50. but I was HOT. of course I was with the idiot all day, so that contributes to it... ROFLMAO!

We have the same setup here, Olive. Woodburning stove is the main heat, but we back it up with space heaters during the night. I'll stay up until 1 or 2 then stoke up the fire. Scott's a morning person and will stoke it back up at 7. We get to sleep in tomorrow because they've cancelled school. It's suposed to get below zero tonight. I also made Zaven and Caly sleep downstairs tonight because if they go upstairs and keep the door open all the heat will go with them. They'll be toasty, but Scott and I will freeze. Zoe and Quinn have a small room w/ a space heater and I always make sure it's nice and warm.

Erin - I'm normally not like that. I get cold in the summer. I always carry a jacket or sweater wherever I go in the summer. LOL. The sun was out all day yesterday, and I am protected by trees, so we don't get a lot of wind. I'm thinking that had something to do with it. I was wearing my gloves tho. My hands tend to get cold first.
Right now it is -19 C with a winchill of -25C, but the sun isn't shinning, so I won't be venturing outside without my big winter coat on.

It's 0 right now and they did NOT cancel school.

Today here in Millbury Ma it is 3 with it feeling like-7 that's whats the weather channel is saying!! I need a vaction.... My finger tips are still stuck to the steering wheel from driving my kids to school!!

My MIL always calls and asks what the temp is here. She gets a lot of satisfaction when she can say it's colder (or hotter, depending on the season) at her house, which is about 20 minutes away. She called the other day and told DH it was 3.2 degrees there and asked what our thermometer said. This is a big joke with DH and I, her always wanting to be the winner of the extreme temperature contest, so when he said "Mom says it's 3.2 degrees, there, what does our thermometer say?", I just started giggling. It was 4 degrees, but I told DH "2 degrees". LOL He knew I was lying because I was sort of laughing, but he told her.

LOL The weatherman says with the windchill we are -14, that's what it feels like. I hate extreme weather in either direction
