How does Santa do it at your house?
Does he wrap gifts? Assemble them and put them under the tree unwrapped?
I am just curious, Santa leaves the gifts unwrapped here, under the tree. He is usually a teensy bit inebrated when he gets here so...kinda in a hurry

Santa always wraps here. You can always tell his packages, especially because of his handwriting. He used to always come when the kids were asleep, but now that they're older he puts them under the tree as soon as he gets them wrapped. I think he knows they're too old to be getting things from him, but so far he's still thinking of them. As far as when the kids were younger, gifts from Santa were never advertised on tv. They were always things that were clearly made by the elves in his workshop.

Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
OOOO. I love that your kids got things from Santa that were not advertised on t.v.! Santa was a big deal when I was growing up, and that is just awesome in my book. The toys looking like they were made by the elves!!! I love it!
Here, santa does both. Impressive gifts are left unwrapped, and others are wrapped and kinda hidden among the other presents. It's kinda exciting to find an unexpected gift from Santa 1/2 way thru the opening.
This year Santa had my daughter's American Girl doll giftwrapped.

Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
oh yeah, Santa is is a little tipsy when it gets to our house too. Maybe it's all that eggnog.
Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
Santa wraps the gifts here because he's the only one that gives the boys toys and it would be sort of sad for the boys to only ever unwrap underwear and clothes! He gets a beer here for his efforts. Sometimes 2.
Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
Well glad I am not the only one with an inebriated Santa. He leaves the gifts unwrapped (and put together if need be). We usually leave him a bottle of wine with the cookies
Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
When I was growing up, it was all Christmas morning, and unwrapped.
As I got grown it came in the mail, (I miss my grandmother)
In years past we have done it all. wrapped, unwrapped, on CHristmas eve, CHristmas day. (BR's family does it CHristmas eve, and I am trying to get away from that, you leave the house for visits, or what ever, and he comes while you are gone)
But we are starting a new tradition this year. (If I remmeber it next year) A gift from mom and dad on Cmas eve. (this is typical, anytime its been Cmas morning), but now its gona be PJ's. Fun, silly, PJ's. since I can plan for next year I will go all out (catching things on clearence) with slippers (silly fun slippers), PJ's, silly socks, and maybe even stocking caps.
I want to turn it into a tradition the kids can have fun with for years. You know what you are getting, but not WHAT it is!
CHirstmas Morning we will have all from Santa, and its gona be wrapped. I think.. And if I dont get out to the store today, Santa might not get his drink...
Of course the wrapped part on the big gift depends on if I can fiqure out how to wrap a Bow... and I really dont want to wrap 18 individual arrows... LOL
I have almost everything wrapped. Except the Bows... OHHHH I dont want to wrap those.. LOL
and my kids get underwear and socks in their stockings... LOL

Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
Here some Santa gifts are wrapped and some aren't. I usually pick the easy to wrap gifts to wrap, and the harder ones are unwrapped. If there is any assembly required, then they get assembled. Also the kids are allowed to ask for 3 things from Santa and those gifts are never wrapped and always out of the packaging (except Zach's this year because he asked for 2 puzzles).

We do gifts to each other on Christmas eve, usually pretty early in the day, later in the day with My Dad and Dh's Mom. Christmas morning is reserved for Santa. There have been several years that DH and I got up and realized the handlebars on a bike were backwards, or the Barbie house was lopsided and in danger of falling over......

Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
You all are cracking me up, I had no idea Santa drank either. No wonder he never drinks the milk we left out.
I have dh entire family here tonight, like 50 in total with siblings, cousins, kids etc.... so we will do just our family thing tomorrow morning and then off to my sisters in the afternoon.
Santa brings everything wrapped, except for the Barbie castle, I think Santa does not have enough paper for that one.... maybe he needs to pick some more up. He also needs to remember to get more batteries.
Did I mention tonight's party is a PJ party, young and old best PJ contest. LOL, I will get to unload some samples and t-shirts from freebie closet
My poor small clean house is going to be packed full and demolished

Re: How does Santa do it at your house?
I cant drink today...
Woke up with a miagraine.
stole one of BR"s vicodens that he didnt use after his staph infection...
Maybe when it wears off... LOL
But I had forgotten how good they worked. cause I cant afford the 100.00 dr visit just to be told I have miagraines.. ROFLMAO!
I am headed to my grandfathers to open presents. Then the two greats' houses, then back home to cook.
Can I use crisco that has never been opened? it expired in 06.... My meat was not greasy enough for chili... I needed 80/20 and its 90/10... I need more grease in it!!

Oh, I would not use it either. Open it and smell it, it should be bad and rancid odor to it. Even if it does not smell rancid, odds are it will taste rancid.
Sorry!

Santa alway leaves elf-made presents here, too! Well, not all of the presents every year are elf-made, but many of them are hand made. Unpainted wooden blocks, wooden toy cars, a hand made leather wallet that was sized for monopoly money. One year Caly got a hot-pink courderoy quilt, with a heavy cotton canvas farm print on the other side, and it had a tag which said hand-quilted by Emily, so we know that one of the elves is named Emily. (This was a second-hand store find, although it was brand new and never even washed.) Caly treasured it for years and years and still does. She said it was so nice to know an elf made it especially for her.
We also usually gift something elf-made to a needy family, and if I "assist" santa and hand make something, I always stich "Elf Made" on it somewhere.
