I was pulled aside by Devon's teacher today...

... because one of the other teachers was concerned that he's sooo white! His teacher tried to explain to her that dh and I seemed like the type of parents that would make sure the school was aware if he was chronically ill or not sleeping, but apparently the music teacher instisted he have a word with me just to be sure. He even mentioned that he has noticed that Devon always has healthy snacks so he was sure nutrition wasn't the issue. All I could do was laugh and explain that he's fine and that he sleeps very well and it's just the Scandinavian heritage showing through. I haven't met the music teacher yet, but I would think that one look at me would answer any questions about Devon's skin tone! LMAO!

Oh that's a riot. But I can understand. The first time I saw his picture I was thinking OMG he is SO pale. But I knew nothing was wrong because you'd have mentioned it. Well, at least you know they care!

Thats so funny Rebecca, I can understand where you and your little guy are coming from. I had the same thing happen when I was in school all the time and my daughter too since she started school when she was little. We all just happen to be very pale. A few years ago at a job I had, one of the supervisors asked me if I was sick and needed to go home because I was "white as a ghost" I told him that i was fine, just had a very pale skin and he said "well you should put more makeup on to look healthy" and I said "I do have makeup on! lol Wynonna gets the same thing all the time too, of course right now she really is sick. But I used to have people comment all the time, asking if we were both anemic or you name it...

That's true. The only time he gets outside the igloo is when we're getting the dogsled ready to get supplies from the trading post.
