Best Coffee Cake---- super easy and yummy!

Crunchy Coffee Cake

3/4 cup sugar
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup shortening (or part butter)
1 cup milk
2 eggs, beaten


Mix dry ingredients. Add shortening and milk. Mix well. Add eggs. Put half the batter in a greased 9x9 pan or a round layer cake pan. Sprinkle 1/2 of the topping over the batter. Layer the last 1/2 of the batter and the last of the topping. Bake at 350' or 45 min. (easy to double for 9 x 13 pan)

Topping:
2/3 cup brown sugar
3 tsp flour
2 Tbsp butter (or marg)
1/2 cup chopped nuts (opt)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
