Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Here are some pictures of Ceilidh from our trip. I'll just post the links to make it dial up friendly.
Here she is already for the long car ride to Halifax.
https://2img.net/h/i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/aurora04/IMG_0020-1.jpg
Here she is with her Hello Kitty that she built (2 days before surgery, you can tell she's getting nervous).
https://2img.net/h/i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/aurora04/IMG_0111-1.jpg
We went to the Discovery Centre and she went on the suspension bridge all by herself. The last time she was there, she was onlly 3 and too scared to go on by herself, but now that she's 4 she wasn't scared anymore.

Just to throw in some of Zach. He went on the suspension bridge as well (that's me holding him). He got scared half way across, so he got off.

Ceilidh playing in the patient only playroom before her surgery.

I just love this picture of Zach, so I had to include it.
https://2img.net/h/i5.photobucket.com/albums/y189/aurora04/IMG_0191-1.jpg
And here she is on the way home.

Thanks for looking. I'll take more pictures when the tape falls off.

Great photos, Dawn. I really like the one where she's in the green and white striped pj's playing with the pots and pans. She sure looked happy on the way home. Kids are so resilient!

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
She is gorgeous! Your tiny little avatar doesn't do her justice.
Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Thanks! I love the one with her in her hospital shirt as well. She had so much fun playing in that room. She actually wanted to stay in Halifax. LOL. They have a lot more things to do up there. There are playgrounds all over the place (we have very few), the Discovery Centre, a big mall with escalators (we don't have those either), Build-A-Bear, ToysRUs and the Disney store (again, stores we don't have). Once we got home, she was glad to be here (until she saw the picture of Zach looking at the trains, then she wanted to go back to the hospital to see the trains, LOL).
I need to find a better picture for my avatar. She is going through the faze where she wants to make funny faces instead of nice smiles, so my choices are quite limited. LOL.

Can you make Hello Kittys at Build-a-Bear now? Hers is really pretty, she has good taste! I'm wondering what her choices were...body color, bow color, clothing options? I think that's so cool! Now I need a granddaughter to go make a Hello Kitty with.

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
My sister told her a couple months ago that she'ld take her to Build a Bear. About a month ago, my sister and Ceilidh were looking at the Build a Bear website, and they had Hello Kitty, so she decided then that she wanted one. Well when they got there, they had none left (but the week before, they had tons) except for ones on display. They asked Ceilidh if she wanted them to unstuff one so she could re-stuff it. She of course said yes. LOL. This location, only had one style of Hello Kitty (came with only the flower). She then got to pick out an outfit and an accessory (those were extra). All the clothes fit Hello Kitty, but none of the hats and glasses did. You can buy a set with different bows/flowers in it to keep changing the flower on Hello Kitty (my sister plans on buying that for her). We kept showing her other outfits, but she knew what she wanted and that was it. I swear the clothes there are nicer than the clothes I have for myself. LOL. After her surgery, my MIL promised to buy her another outfit, so she picked the bathing suit complete with a pair of crocs. She told MIL that shoes are part of an outfit, so she needed both. LOL. The first trip to Build a Bear was over $65, but I had a $15 GC, so my sister only had to pay $49, but that was a small price to pay considering how happy it made her, and how much Hello Kitty helped her at the hosptial.
Oh, Ceilidh also wanted the bed for Hello Kitty, so my sister told her that when she is ready to move to her big girl bed (she's in a toddler bed right now), then she will come to Build a Bear, and buy Hello Kitty her bed. LOL.
It's such a great store. I sort of wish we had one here.

Now I'm going to have to scope out Build-a-Bears in my area (Michigan) to see if they have Hello Kitty. I can imagine that a girl would get one look at Hello Kitty and no bear in the world would do. No wonder they were sold out! It seems like a good price for such a big cuddly toy, but I'll bet your sister really appreciated your coupon.

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
I am so glad she is doing better. She really looks like she loves that Hello kitty! My son is sitting here talking about the hello kitty (wondering why its brown.. LOL kids think of the wierdest things. ) And then imediatly saw the crocs in the background. and told me I needed that color! LOL
Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
She is so beautiful! And so is Zach. How is he taking all the fuss? My kids drive me crazy because when one of them is sick they are all stressed out.
Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
I took my son to Build A Bear for his 2nd Christmas. He didnt know what was going on, but I sure did! I had a blast! I want to make one for the hubby, but I can not find a skunk one just yet. Soon as I see they have one, I am willing to make that 1-2 hr trip to get it (wish they had one closer).
She is a doll for sure! I love the differance in the first Hello Kitty pic of her before surgery and the one after. Shows how strong she is.
And your son is handsome! You have 2 very beautiful children!

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
He's doing Ok with all the attention. I was worried because everyone kept buying Ceilidh things when we were in Halifax. He did get some things in Halifax (a new train, a puzzle, and mega blocks). I felt bad when my MIL bought her a new webkinz, and the outfit/crocs for Hello Kitty , and bought Zach a .99 cent diaper shirt. He didn't seem to notice tho because he had his train and half a chocolate bar. LOL.
They are both being fussed upon today tho because they are both sick. They both have fevers, but I'm pretty sure Ceilidh's is from her cold/cough and not an infection in the incision. If her fever gets much higher (it's only low grade right now), then we will probably take her to the ER (hate Sundays when there is no walk in clinic) to make sure.

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Hope her fever isn't anhything serious! I would love to visit Halifax someday, but hopefully not for a surgery! Glad she's doing so well overall though!
Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Thanks everyone! Ceilidh is starting to come around to the fact that she is still pretty. I asked her who my pretty little girl was, and she said her. I'm hoping it just improves from there.
Halifax is a nice area, but much too big of a city for me. LOL. I like to visit once every couple of years (it had been 3 years since I was last up there, LOL). There is a lot more to do up there tho, and I wouldn't mind visiting it a little more often just to be able to experience some different things.
Her fever did turn out to be just from her cold. I was 99.99% sure it was, but her surgeon, and 2 of her nurses told us point blank that if she got a fever, to bring her to a doctor regardless what her other symptoms are (cold, flu, etc...) to get checked out. I got the feeling from the doctor that he thought it was a waste to bring her in, but oh well. Just following orders. On the bright side, he peeked at her incision, and it's healing great. He actually said that we can take the tape off now, but since Ceilidh freaked out (literally, arms and feet flying, crying, screaming) about having to peel a corner up, he thought it best to just leave them there until they fall off on their own. LOL. We also got him to look at Zach (he has a 103 fever), but nothing going on there either (he's prone to ear infections). So I just have to keep both of them doped up on tylenol and motrin.

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Dawn, I've been wondering how to pronounce Ceilidh's name. I wanted to show her pictures to Zoe (pronounced to rhyme with Joey), but I wanted to be sure I was saying the right thing because that is what she will say for ever after. She loves to look at the other kids, especially the girls who are 3 or 4, since she is 3 and will be 4 in two weeks.
Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Ooops. I usually add the pronounciation when I mention her name the first couple of times, I guess I forgot here. It's pronounced Kaylee. It's gaelic for party (some people say kitchen party), gathering, etc...
Ceilidh is constantly asking who everyone is in pictures as well. I always hope I'm pronouncing names right. Actually Zoe would have been Zach's name if he was a girl. I love the name.

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
She's starting to come around! Only 2 more steri-strips came off (3 more to go, and they'll be off tomorrow even if I have to take them off), and it's healing great! It's more raised than DH would like, but it's what I was expecting. I wasn't expecting it to look perfect as soon as the strips came off. There is still more healing to do afterwards.
She is now starting to admit she's pretty, and she's no longer asking if her birthmark will come back. I don't know if she's finally accepting it, or if she's just not mentioning it for now. We have a lot of fun things planned for when all the strips come off, so she's looking forward to that. We're setting up the pool Zach got for his birthday, SIL is taking her over to see one of her best friends (it's my SIL's other neice) and shopping. Plus she can go outside and play in the sprinkler. We're holding off on letting her play in the sandbox since it's still raw, and last thing I want is for her to get sand in it.
Thanks for asking about her. I'll be sure to pass the message on to her!

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
How is she doing now? I've been meaning to ask if she's finally decided if she likes her new look, and how it's healing.
Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Thanks for asking about her! She's doing great! She's now starting to make plans for when we go to Halifax for her next surgery. LOL. I guess she's used to her new look now. She has moments thinking it's not healed yet because it's still red (last part of her birthmark that's left) and because MIL hasn't had her over for a sleepover yet. MIL told her that as soon as her face heals she can have a sleepover. Well that hasn't happened yet, so being a 4 year old, she thinks her face isn't healed and not that MIL has too much going on to keep her promise. But that's a different rant. LOL.
She sees her dermatologist on Thursday, so I'll update then about what she says.
I'll post some new pictures of her soon. I just need to get off my butt and take some.
Again, thanks for asking.

I love gaelic names Dawn!!! I don't think I would have gotten that one though! I have two nieces with gaelic names. Aisling (ashling) and Niamh (neeve).
Glad to hear she is doing so much better!

Re: Pictures of Ceilidh (just links so dial up friendly)
Thank you for pronouncing it! I have been meaning toask!!
I am so glad she is getting used to it sounds like she is bouncing back wonderfully!
and you pronounce Rayley the same as Kaylee unless you are from the south, then its raayyLEE, Bretts is BaRHeT Matts is MaaT and Bows is Bowh, Like a bow and arrow. Chelle is shell. Like a seashell. Short for Michelle although lots of folks call me Chelly (rhymes with Kelly but with a CH like Champ.)
