I HATE WAL MART!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know, but I think the door checking is a ntionawide thing. It is the WORST in the Orange wal mart. I usually tell them NO, and if they insist tell them to arrest me and get a warrant. It is not store policy, but they persist in violating peoples civil rights all the time.

I think they do it where they want to. If you call and complain they will tell you that they CAN do it, but they DONT want each person searched. Its supposed to be more of a deterant. which makes sense, all the ones that work the door are old as dirt or afflicted in some way. (not being rude, but, who are they going to catch in a rundown?)

I didnt realize and stop doing it until I was in TENN for a few months, then AUstin, and I would STOP and they would look at me like I was a flippin idiot. Then it hit me. I was conditioned to just accept them treating me like a criminal. So I stopped.

I especially like the ones that will TALK to your cashier when you are at the first or last register while you are checking out and THEN want to check yoru recipet when you walk out. One of them jumped IN FRONT of my buggy once. She never made that mistake again.

I am really sorry that happened to you. I have had some pretty bad times with coupons and cashiers at WalMart myself. I always call the district manager. The last time the cashier told me I had to pick either use my coupons or get my price match. Jeez was I mad at that! I told her I will just go buy the stuff at the store that has it on sale and use my coupon. The district manager had the store manager call me, who had a meeting with all the cashiers regarding my issue. I understand not wanting to talk to them, but it isn't as bad as you might think. Like chelle said, they usually start kissing your butt right away.
Oh and they don't do the check back thing at the door here. They have tried it at holiday time but hillbillies don't like it and yell a lot, so they quit

Wow. I yet to have a bad experiance at a Walmart except for one time that I left my 18 yr old brother in the car with my son. Rather than unstrap him, carry him into the store, fight him to sit in the cart, stand in line to return something, run and grab what I really wanted, stand in line again, and to put him back into his seat. So, I left my brother in the car, with the a/c on and running, and got done 15 minutes faster than if I had my son. But when I got back to the car, the security that drives in the parking lot started to tell me that I was a bad mother and that he was about to call the cops on me. Why? Because I left my baby in the car? he was sleeping, and my adult brother was with him. Does that make me bad???

Yesterday, i got asked directions to the Walmart here in town. Then i realized.... there are 5 in my town--- 3 down the same street roughly 10 miles apart.

Our Wal-marts almost never check. I think it's happened to me once. And if the alarm goes off while you're walking out they'll check. But if it went off because the cashier didn't turn off the beepers when you paid, they'll give you a 2-liter of Coke to make up for the inconvienience.

missmissy, I'da given him a peice of my mind and BEGGED him to call the cops. My husband sits in our truck all the time waiting on me with the kids. (when he goes to town with me...) heck, on a decent day he doesnt even leave the truck running (zero miles to the gallon and all that).

and I can assure you, no rent a cop wants to screw with my husband. at 6ft, 300 pounds and being an ex sgt at the prison he doesnt take much crap.
Although he is more inclined to let me take care of most stuff like that

I have 4 wal marts, all within 20 or so miles o each other. I will only shop at 3 of them, and would rather Target anyday.

I told him to feel free and call the cops, and that they would laugh at him for the whole thing, so it would be a waste of his time. He just told me that if he saw me do this again he was going to call child services... yeah, dare you.

If my brother was under 18 at the time, i would never have done that. But because he is my son's uncle, he's over 18 and very mature for his age, I felt that he would be okay. He knew that if I took too long to take the baby out (Timmy was just about a year old at this time) and to come into the store. But I left the a/c going so that they were cool, plus they had bottles of water, with one filled up for my son already. It was not an overly hot day, but it was warm.

I have no words for how much I despise Wal-Mart. It's discusting (at least every one I've ever been to was) and I'll never set foot in one again.

They were going to call the cops on you for leaving your son secured in an air conditioned vehicle with his adult uncle? That's the funniest thing I ever heard!

Walmart truly stinks...I can't tell you how many times I have attempted to use a coupon that a manufactor had on their websites only to be told that they don't accept online coupons..their policy clearly states they do accept online coupons..

I ended up having managers tell me they don't accept coupons...I did contact Walmart and received two calls one from their corporate office and one from said manager who refused my coupons..all saying sooo sorry...we do accept them..

Stupid me I try again...low and behold same problem..as I held up the line at the same store explaining what just 2 days ago happened to me..I am pulled to the CS and retold that they don't accept online coupons..some comments were write the manufactors and make them send an "ACTUAL" coupon..

Clearly Walmart has severe cs issues as I told them again at their headquarters..I won't shop there unless I have to..

I haven't had any problems with coupons at my wal-mart. I don't use them a lot, but just last week I had some coupons I printed out online, and the cashier just took them and manually entered them. Maybe they don't scan?, but she didn't give me a hard time about it. I go to wal-mart once a week because they are cheap, but in general I hate wal-mart. I think everyone does...

went to wal mart today. picked the cashier who looked most likely to know how to do internet coupons and least likely to give me an issue. was RIGHT in front of the exit. the gal at the exit had her little marker out and as i approached walked up to meet me with her hand out for my reciept. i walked right past her. with her saying "mam, i need to check your cart, Mam" i hollered back"; YOU JUST SAY ME GO THROUGH CHECK OUT!!" AND "NO TIME THANKS" and i kept going. she didnt run out after me. LOL i am NOT stopping. i certainly didnt feel like i had time. i had an upset stomach, no way was i stopping!

about target, my target decided on thier own to stop taking any coupons tht were OVER the amount of the product. like the ones that are good on trial sizes. they are supposed to change the coupon amount in the register to match the trial size. well i talked to customer service and they called the store 3 way and informed them they are NOT autonomous and could not make the decision themselves. that it is company policy to mark down the coupon to make the item free and what not. BAH on them!

I don't. I don't have problems with coupons whether I print them or their magazine quality. Don't even have a problem when I go thru the "self scan" lane. The Walmart in my city is great... friendly folks, always willing to help you find a product... just a good place to shop.

And best of all -- they'll comp any other store's ad and you don't even need to have the ad with you!

Yes, and I never went back to that WalMart. I drove OUT OF MY WAY to go to a differant one. Though the cs there wasn't much better, at least I didn't get threatened to be arrested.

I would have loved that, because I would have taken WalMart and thier security company to court for harassment.

BUT anyways... I did not go to Walmart-but I went to my local Hilander (Kroger owned) and bought some groceries. In hand, over $4 in coupons. I love this store. It is not advertised like the other local store, but they will double coupons under $.60. I ended up with saving over $5 with coupons alone. Over $10 for sale items. I am happy. =)

I like the underclothes there, like bras and panties.

but the one thing I HATE about Target is that they are slim on the clothes for a young boy. TONS and TONS of girl clothes, but not a boy. When I went to register when I was pregnant, I was sad about the selection because they had such cute girl clothes. I thought, cool, cute boy clothes. No, that section wasn't even a quarter of the size for girls. And I searched about 3 Targets. =(

You're right missmissy .... parents must shop for girls clothes more than boys ..... I never said to myself 'Yay! I'm having a boy, can't wait to dress him up in all those cute clothes'. lol

Now that my son is 10 .. I buy everything he wears at Target ( thank God he's not a Hollister age, although that's coming soon I suspect).

I like our Walmart. They never give me flak when I use coupons.

Here in Montgomery, TX (about an hour nw of Houston), have never been stopped on the way out to check bags or receipts. The only time I saw them do that was when the alarm went off and even then they were polite to the customer. I have never been questioned or had coupons refused whether from the paper or the internet.

Now the Walmart that is in the next city..........well that is a whole different story and I would never go there. A lot of how the store is run and how they treat folks is how management approaches it.

But if I was ever treated like that, corporate would be hearing from me and corporate doesn't like those kind of calls and will get the situation resolved. Good luck and let us know what happens.
