Three sick kids and one idiot son

OK, maybe he's not an idiot. But I'm annoyed at him. ALL the kids except Zaven are sick. Nothing awful. Fevers and sniffles. But Zoe was up ALL night last night. Not crying. Just not sleeping. Got in bed with us (at midnight), talked and told a story to herself (at 12:30), sang a couple of songs (at 2), talked more (at 2:30), got up to look for toys (at 3:00), got up to watch TV (at 4:00... and I let her so I could at least get some sleep), got up to change from the chair to her new car seat (at 4:30), screamed because Caly was sleeping on the sofa under HER Go, Diego, Go blanket (at 8 ). So today, Caly slept on the sofa or watched TV all day, Zoe missed her first-ever day of pre-school, and Quinn (who's starting to feel better since he was the first one to catch it) has only been interested in stripping off his diaper and running naked through the house. So when I had to leave to go pick up Zaven, I asked Caly to watch the babies. Easy enough since Zoe's asleep and Quinn can't get out of the living room without help. And when I came back, Zoe was still asleep, Quinn was naked, Caly was watching TV and hadn't noticed that Quinn had peed on the stack of laundry that I washed, dryed, folded, and asked idiot son Zaven to put away the day before yesterday. He hadn't. He'd just put them on the sofa and then put the big floor pillow on top of them. So when Quinn started pulling the sofa cushions off he got into the stack. I'd call Caly an even bigger idiot except she can at least claim she was feverish and tired. Zaven has no excuses. He's almost old enough to drive and didn't realize that clothes can't put themselves away and will get messed up when left around a baby. OY!

A little. I'd probably feel a lot better if I wasn't so tired, LOL.

That sucks! Take heart though -- my turn's coming. I'm sure that with Devon being in school for the first time he's going to catch every little bug going around!

I thought yesterday was a bad day. but I didnt have sick kids, I was pretty lucky.

Of course, we all know that the rule is : you muck up the laundry, YOU rewash it ALL and fold it AND put it away. or at least thats th erule here

*phew Karen* I'm exhausted just reading about your night!

Zaven rewashed the clothes, but I can't really make him dry them since I've been trying to use the clothesline whenever possible (better for the environment, cheaper electric, and doesn't heat up the house). It was raining last night so he didn't put them out, and if I wait until he's home from school I won't be able to do any laundry all day. But, he's usually very helpful so I'll forgive him. He actually came home from 2 months at Upward Bound this summer with every last bit of his laundry clean and folded. Even the sheets from his bed that he'd slept on the night before. Apparently one of the things they focused on this summer was taking responsibility for yourself and showing respect to the people in your life. One of the counselors explained to them that making a mess and expecting someone else to clean it up was disrespectful. I've been really impressed with how much of a difference there has been in his helping out around the house. I was just so ticked yesterday because I was SO tired.

Can I send my kids to upward bound?? They spent last night fist fighting.

And dumped 2 bsketfulls of laundry in my laundry room floor. I was almost DONE. but out of the last 2 days, yesterday was the easiest.. LOL

I don't know how I would keep up with all the laundry you and Chelle do .... I go out of my mind with just Dalton and I!

As soon as they're old enough you should! They have kids come from Alabama and California. I'm sure they'd take them from Texas! And someone needs to take them from you. It's not right that a mother beat up her kids with an empty laundry basket. But if they keep dumping the CLEAN laundry it might just come to that.

Beachy, it's probably the one thing that bothers me the most about having 4 kids. I could do NOTHING but laundry all day long and even if I did get it caught up I'd have at least one more load to do as soon as everyone took off their clothes. I've decided to never change out of my jammies to cut back on washing things.

And Erin, it's for high school kids.

LOL karen!! Your right! and PJ's all day every day unless I have to go to town! LOL Its not lazy, its my way of saving money and the environment!

ANd yes, death by laundry is a large possibility.

I could claim I was a basket case. with a spinning head.

Those people who take showers and get dressed every day are going to destroy the planet, I tell you.

I am also a big fan off all day pj's! I am very anal about my laundry though- it never sits in the washer and I fold and put it away as soon as it's done. Or I would have kids throwing it, animals laying on it, husbands throwing dirty stuff on top and it prevents me from having to iron
