There may actually be an option in the set up of the board ...putting a option to mark all posts read..fore each forum or the entire board...
it just needs to be applied. At least there usually is one....that would take care of the spinning shells...

are you talking about something that would mark those threads we have already viewed as read so we would know what had been updated since we last read it?

Oh my gosh! How can the spinning shells bother people. I see them- if its not a topic that interests me I move on. Now if I can do that with a ADHD personality- it can't be too difficult for others to do the same. I think there is only one phrase that pertains to this and that is GROW UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I go to a lot of boards and read and some I post in. They have things such as the spinning shells, but I have never heard anyone complain. I hope that's the worst thing someone has to complain about. If so their life must be great. As for me, I have a lot more I could complain about that spinning shells. lol!

As for the shells..

If someone is totally uninterested in certain forums, it might be less distracting..
easier.. if they could just mark a forum read. No big deal..
if that option is not available, that is no big deal either..
but I have found it useful in the past..after being away for a day or two
or with a busy forum..

This forum however, resets so often.. there are several times each day that
it resets itself and so there is no spinning.. I am not sure if the
View posts since last visit options works then or not.. I usually just glance at the times..
