Well, we went today and priced mattress sets (ouch!) It's been 10 years since I bought a mattress set and that was $800. then. We decided to go to Marden's, it's a regional chain of discount stores. They basically sell liquidation items from other stores that are going out of business or whatnot. Sometimes it may be items from a store that had a small fire, but the store gets rid of the entire store's inventory whether damaged or not. In the case of these mattresses that they had, they were either discontinued lines, or liquidation from another store. We priced a King sz box spring and mattress $699. (this group of mattress sets were liquidations from some out of area furniture store) We went to a local furniture store, (for the exact same set of mattress and box spring set) Sealy Posturpedic <i can't remember the model name, but they were the same> they wanted $1400.00!!! I almost peed myself! So it looks like Sat, we are going back to Mardens and getting the set there, we just need to get a frame now. We picked up some ceiling paint for the livingroom, and trim paint for JJ"s room and went out to lunch. Then we came home and I ordered that zebra rug because today was the last day of the 55% off with promo code sale&free shipping, they did have some nicer zebra rugs, but we refuse to pay $300, and up for an area rug.

JJ was so excited when he found out we ordered it..
He starts work in the morning, he has to be there at 6am-1pm Tues and Thurs every week, at some point they may up his hours to 20hrs a week (student hours) but for now it's 14 hrs week.

I can't wait for a little cooler weather so I can be a painting fool. JJ's room comes first, then after that the deck, then the livingroom. If I can fit it in before winter and decide on a color, maybe I might do our bedroom. I've only changed my mind about the livingroom color a billion times, and still haven't made a final decision.

So the last few big purchases before we put the rest of the money aside will be, the King size box spring and mattress, the snowblower, and hopefully a pool table. If we'd had the money after Christmas this last year, they had them on Sale at Sears for $349. for the nicer ones, but they don't have them on sale right now. If we wait until after Christmas this year to hope to get one on sale, our luck they won't have any on sale, or we won't have the money then because something else came up. They have one right now for $500. in the local sears (I can't find a $500. one online) However, I haven't seen it and hubby just told me about it. The $500. might be a sale price, if so the table might not be half bad. If it isn't a sale price, it will depend on the table itself. We really aren't prepared to pay more than that for one. If we are going to get the mattresses on Sat, we might as well check out the pool table and if we decide that we want to spend the $$ get it at the same time while we are borrowing BIL's trailer. The table comes with a wall rack, 2 pool cue sticks, balls, rack. chalk. So we wouldn't have to buy the accessories, except maybe some more pool sticks later...Then after that it may be a gallon of paint here or there..but putting the rest of the $ away for unexpected stuff, and also for fuel this winter...

Ahh, hubby stopped into sears on his lunch, they just had a photo of one there which is what he was talking about. However from talking to an associate they have a pool table right now for $399. that includes 2 cue sticks, ball rack, chalk, balls. $399. is the sale price, it's originally a $799. table, we would have to order it from another sears and it would be shipped for free in their next truck coming up here on tues next week. Sears is trying to get rid of last years stock before this Christmas
this is it!

It's like a billion Christmases in a row the last few days...however after the bed this weekend and snowblower in a couple weeks, that's it for a long, long time for spending. Hubby and I decided him and I didn't need anything for each other, ourselves for Christmas with all of this stuff...and with the mortgage and fuel and setting some aside we really shouldnt spend anymore anyway...but we will all use the exercise equipment and the pool table..Kris, JJ and I.
