Barnes and Noble book club
Just wondering if any of you take part in the First reads with Barnes and Noble? I have done several of them and throughly enjoy them. I also get books from Harper Collins before they are published. I read them and write a very brief review. I applied both for adult and teen books- most of what I get are the teen books. Its a way to build a libray with no cost!

Re: Barnes and Noble book club
I don't do B&N, I have my hands full with the ARCs I get to review now. IN fact, I have one to do tonight..
I love reviewing books!

Do you need to have a Barnes and Noble near you to participate or do they mail you the books? Do you review them?idatater46 wrote:Just wondering if any of you take part in the First reads with Barnes and Noble? I have done several of them and throughly enjoy them. I'd love to get involved in something like that.

Go to B&N online... and creat an account..then look around in the book club area.. I think that is where you will find it..
Also if you are a book lover check out LibraryThing
I triple love that site

No need to be close to a Barnes and Noble- you apply online and they mail the copies to you if you are chosen. I live in a samll town and frankly, the library here is not good. They don't keep up with best sellers and thats what I like to read. I joined book clubs but that gets expensive and with the economy the way it is now, its not feasible to continue with the book clubs that cost. I do like the Harper Collins website though and get a lot of books through them to read and review before they are printed for sale.

Once you create an account, you can sign up for the First Look choices, which are offered a few times a year. I got in on the next one (Songs for the Missing, Stewart O'Nan) - but they're not taking any more people for it. You can still read the forum & participate in on-line discussions for other books though.

I just tried this for the first time & didn't get accepted for any of my three choices! I think they put up new ones each month.
I did just get a book from All You for review, but I can't remember the name. They're supposed to send me a survey about it.

I have been so luck- I haven't missed a month since I joined- every month, at least 1-2 books to read and review. Some have been wonderful and others- well, not so wonderful.

Do you have to request new books each month or they automatically send them?
