I have a vivid memory of reading Heidi while listening to an Osmonds album when I was young. Now I can't think of one without thinking of the other. LOL Good suggestions!

I remember really enjoying the Trixie Belden books as a youngster. And, The Bobbsey Twins were a good series of kid's books too! Nancy Drew books are a good read as well.

Anyone remember Mr. Popper's Penguins?

The Bobsey Twins is a name I haven't heard in a long time! I read those and I started reading Heidi in grade one. I still remember laying on the couch with my dad and reading it out loud to him. He couldn't believe that I was reading a 300 page novel so he would ask me questions to see if I understood what I had just read to him.

Christopher Paolini

I know these were for teenagers but, I loved them, can't wait to read the third one.

The most recent book I read that sticks out was the Time Travelers Wife. This was so not my kind of book, I started reading it thinking I was going to hate it and I really enjoyed it.

I didn't, nor do I want to see the movie, they just never measure up. I have never read Harry Potter just for that reason, I enjoy the movies and it seems every book turned movie I see, the book is always better. I want to enjoy all the movies before I read the books.
