MIA for a few days
I'm quite excited. My nephew (son of my brother who passed away last month) is coming down south to visit. He's bring his finance, Sara, who we met and love, and her two sons.
Initially expected them late on Tues night. But talked with him last night, and they're leaving tonight, sometime around 1am and expect to arrive around 8 in the mornig.
So my two days of prep became one. But between Chuck and I, think we have gotten everything accomplished we had planned to do in two, including lots of groceries!
Brandon, Sara and boys will be here until Thurs night, at which time they plan to drive to NC to stay with my sister and her family for a couple of days before heading to the Ocean... Sara has never seen it (can' you imagine that?)...
As much as I don't want them to leave here, I'm going to talk them into leaving after breakfast on Thurs. I really don't want them driving thru Nashville and the mountains in NC during the middle of the night. Besides being a safety issue, it's such a beautiful drive once they get past Knoxville...
I guess being 34 & 26, you think you can do anything... including driving 10 or 12 hours straight. Guess we did at one time too... but I personally don't think it's worth the risk.
so, since I'm going to be cook, host and Aunt for the next few days, I won't be around...gonna miss "reading" ya'll... but I'll be back come Friday ...
Have fun Girls (and if there are any guys still hanging around, you too!)
Bye

Re: MIA for a few days
Have a great visit with them! Oh, and I've never seen an ocean either -- the Atlantic is a couple day's drive to the east and the Pacific is 48 hours of straight driving to the west.
Re: MIA for a few days
Enjoy your time with them Dee!
BTW I have seen the ocean but given my fear of things IN it, my enjoyment has always been gee it's pretty, can we go now?

Re: MIA for a few days
We'll miss you Dee, but I hope you have a wonderful visit! It's so good that they are getting the opportunity to come see you, especially after what they have been through recently. And this will be a wonderful way to get to know Sara better. I look forward to hearing all about it when you get back.
Re: MIA for a few days
I did, they left this morning, I'm spent. IF I can figure out how to do the photo bucket picture thing, will post a photo of Brandon (THE nephew) and myself.

Re: MIA for a few days
Me, too! I love seeing family photos. Glad the visit went well and glad to see you back
Re: MIA for a few days
HOW do I make my photos visible HERE. I've uploaded to photobucket, and I know this subject of "how" has been covered in another thread... but don't want to look for it.
I'll be here for a while.

You click the image code on the photo bucket pic and it copies it, then you paste it here

Re: MIA for a few days
I did them, and quickly deleted them.... they were huge, so what size do I want to choose (I'm in editing mode)?
medium (320x240)
or small (160x120)
????????

Re: MIA for a few days
well I was trying to help, lol. If you click the pic thing on here after you browse it gives you three options, at least it does me, lol
Re: MIA for a few days
If I click on picture thing where? Here you mean at UB (never saw such a thing)
I just did as Beachy (?) said and click on the 'image' link at photo bucket where it copies the link, then I paste it here..
photo bucket is slow as molasses right now for me... so am still trying to make the photos smaller so I can click on image and paste them here... grrrr... well I guess that first time is always the tough time... but I'll keep trying

Re: MIA for a few days
Meet Brandon, a spitting image of my dear brother, and you now are seeing me for the first time. I'm not normally almost a blond... that's a summer sun bleach job
and here's Brandon and his beautiful finance, Sara (she is Mexican/Aztec) and a real great gal

Re: MIA for a few days
Well that is TINY, supposedly the smallest I can make these AT photo bucket.
Next time, before making pictures to send to photo bucket, guess I need to make them much smaller in my photo file...
gosh that was a lot of work.....
