JoeC....show us your tats!
Guess what...JoeC has two full sleeves of tattoos!
Please Joe...post pics!
As we are waiting for Joe let's post some pics of our tattoos and the meaning behind them.
I was going to post a pic of mine first but I can't find one.
I'll have to get hubby to snap a few when he gets home today.

Re: JoeC....show us your tats!
I don't have any tattoos just yet. I want to have my design down pat since I know that once it's there, it is there.
But I would like to get a 4 leaf clover with either, my son's initials and his birthdate in one leaf, or his full name. Main reason why I am waiting is because if I have another child, I don't want them to feel that my son is the favorite.
Another idea I had was to get a police badge with my father's badge number and his info, name, birthdate and deathdate, but my older brother already is claiming stake to that. lol
I am more into piercings than I am into tattoos. At one point, I was up to 7, including the one in each ear. I am down to only my ears now, but I want to get my tongue and labret repierced.
This is the best pic I have to show the labret and tongue piercing. This pic is about 4 years old, too...
I lost my piercings basically when I got pregnant. I took my tongue and 2 others out because I was having a c-section and when I got home, they were already closed up. About a year later, I lost the ball to my labret and could not get a replacement in time. That one I was very sad about.

Re: JoeC....show us your tats!
Ok all of you -- post some tat pics! I love tattoo art, but never seem to have the extra money and the willingness to go through with all the needles at the same time. Some day though...
Re: JoeC....show us your tats!
Hubby just took these.
I told him to edit out my fat...
he said the camera doesn't have a "fat cutter" button...har, har...he's riot
This is a Claddaugh it's Irish
The Heart =Love
The Crown = Loyalty
The Hands = Friendship
A good friend of mine drew the design and I had it lying on the kitchen table, my brother was here visiting and saw it. He called his tattoo artist & made an appt for me. When I got off work he surprised me by taking me to get my very first tattoo me that evening.
The symbolism of the whole event is incredibly important to both of us.
My brother almost died in a motorcycle accident in 2004, a drunk driver pulled out in front of him. He was stationed at Ft Bragg & I was living in WDC, we were both single at time so I moved here to take care of him during his recuperation period. He went from being bed bound, to wheel chair, to walker, and now he’s back to riding Harleys with me.
Our relationship is summed up by the Claddaugh

Awesome Scar!
I used to wear a claddah toe ring that my very best friend brought me from Ireland. It broke last summer
A lot less painful than that tat tho!

Re: JoeC....show us your tats!
I dont have mine yet. LIke rebecca I cant find the money to do it. and the weekend I was going to get it done I found out I was pregnant.
I want a 'tramp stamp' of 2 yellow roses with the stems entertwined, trailing down to BR's initials. the bottom of the B starts the R.
The yellow roses because I love yellow roses, and my grandmother and I both for years tried to have yellow roses but could never find one that would stay a true yellow color. These will.
Plus, you've heard 'yellow rose of Texas' and if I could find a REALLY good artist who could incorperate some bluebonnets I would be thrilled.
And BR... well cause I have spent 17 years with him. Over half my life. The only way I will leave him is if I kill him, and then it will be a memorial tatoo. I am also concidering the initail M somewhere in there. just because the B and R will be also for BREtt, Bow and Rayley. Matt would be left out. I might also put a MB there. the line on the B coming off the M. But that I am not sure of yet.
I do want full color.
And I want it on my lower back, because I dont want it on my ankles, really dont want it on my arm, and just kinda like the idea LOL
Oh and yes, I have my belly button peirced. its a hold over from when I had a killer body. (well it was a decent body after 3 kids... LOL --- actually it was my 'early midlife crisis' I had it done at 30. Right now I dont have it in, cause Bow kicks and squirms and pulls on it.
oh and the normal holes in my ears. I have 4. which my grandfather HATES. He says if God wanted holes in your ears, he would have put them there. He will really freak when he see's the tatoo.

Re: JoeC....show us your tats!
My eyebrow was pierced..I've let it grow up because of being back in the job market.
If my next employer will allow I will certianly do it again.
(chelle---yep, mine's a tramp-stamp )

Re: JoeC....show us your tats!
SCAR--
My fiance and I are proud of our Irish heritages and have played with the idea of getting some custom clauddaughs as our wedding rings.
He bought me one a few years ago, kinda as an engagement/promise ring. I can not recall the story now, but I do know that the crown facing down on the left hand ring finger symbolizes like an engagement. I will have to look up the story of what the ring means on each hand/finger.

My hubby and I got married this past Oct & EVERTHING in our wedding had the Claddaugh motif on or around it.
We even incorporated a "Hand Fasting" ceremony to honor my Scottish heritage.
The only thing we didn't have were claddagh rings (hubby wanted a plain silver band)
I wear a Claddagh on my right hand (heart turned in means you're taken, heart turned out means you are available) and so do my daughters. It's "family" thing for us.
