Need a little help/advice..
I remember all the great advice I was given on cleaning my wound.. BUT I am having a problem with some really, really dry skin around it. Anyone have any advice on what I can use that will not hurt me if it gets into the wound?? My skin is soooo dry and it's peeling. Thanks!

Missy, I'd call the doctor's office & speak with his nurse.
The type of wound you have isn't something you can fool with too much.
When I got my eyebrow pierced I used Satin soap to clean it.
Satin is a type of anti-microbial soap produced by Caretech Labs.
But once again I wouldn't do anything without checking my dr first.

Yeah, my Mom just told me to call. My DR is on vacation until I go and see her (July 14th at 8:15 am!!) so I will have to speak to a nurse. It is healing very nicely, in my eyes... but the skin around it is so itchy because it is sooo dry. I am too scared of something bad happening to leave the bandage off for any amount of time except for in the shower.

Vaseline. Not Vaseline brand lotion, but vaseline itself. Buy a new unopened jar. Use a fresh cotton ball each time you get some out, so that you do not put germs from your fingers into it. But vaseline is completely non-organic. There is nothing that lives off of it, so the germs aren't going to be able to grow in it. It is safe enough that you can eat it without harm (used to be given as a laxative!). Anyhow, it will seal moisture into the skin. Clean the skin first, because you don't want to keep the germs next to the skin. But hospitals use it on burns and other wounds so it should be fine.
