Post by Rebecca1340 Sun Mar 30, 2008 9:42 pm

I've been so busy working on the site and running around with the kids I really haven't had a chance to tell you much about myself. Besides sitting at the computer and annoying BzzAgent I also play around in stained glass. I don't do anything too big because I really don't have the time and space for that, but here's some pics of a few of the things I have made.
I'll just post the links for those of you on dial up
This was my first ever creation:

This one was a gift for my Aunt:

Another gift:

This one was for my dad. I think it's my favourite!

Tired of giving all my work away I made this for my Christmas tree:

I have to get over to London to get some more supplies, but I've got a couple of projects sitting on my work bench just waiting to be soldered!

Those are awesome rebecca! I don't have a creative bone in my body... my biggest craft like adventure has been making cloth diapers, lol. Not because I thought it would be fun... I'm just cheap frugal and so far it's been working. Unfortunately I can't breast feed and have yet to find away around the price of formula.

Thanks! I just sort of tool around with it when I have the time. I'm cheap frugal too, but cloth diapers are just not something I could bring myself to do. Luckily I could breastfeed. I actually produced way too much milk and could have fed your kids too if I had only known...

Rebecca, you should sell those! You might not make loads of money, but it'll keep you in supplies. They are very pretty! I love to make stuff. Actually, it goes back to that loving to learn new things. I love to learn how to make stuff. And I'm very frugal cheap.

Thanks. It's somewhere to channel some energy to. I don't recommend it if you're really stressed out though. Soldering your finger does not feel nice!

Very nice Rebecca, and thanks for sharing. I have a sister-in-law in TX who does stained glass.

My current avatar (I know, I change it too often) is a pic of my hobby. It's a quilted wallhanging I did of my beagle. I don't especially love the technique (stressful making your own pattern!) but I do love the results. I've used the technique to make a wallhanging for my niece of her new dog, a miniature pinscher, and I've used it to make a holiday wallhanging featuring a reindeer.

Nice! I thought that was a painting because the av pics are so small, but now that you say it's quilted I can see what you mean! Nice job!

I'm impressed! I also thought it was a picture rather than a quilt. How big is in real life?

It's a med sized wall hanging...maybe 24 inches by 30 inches. There's a border outside of the green background that you can't see in the picture. Maybe I'll try to resize so the whole thing shows.

Tara, I'm going to be super serious for a minute and nag at you. You are not untalented. You are articulate and witty and fun to be around. You are a patient and caring mother, which takes an enormous amount of talent. And like all devoted parents of small children, you don't have much time to develop and work on your other talents.

That being said, since you're so good at Pics of my Hobby 632338 , how about doing some of mine?

Patient? you must be talking about someone else, lol. I try but I was at the end of the line when they were handing that out. I'm sure I have a creative talent... I just haven't found it yet.
As for the Pics of my Hobby 632338 I have enough but if you want to buy me one of those fancy front loaders that you can wash super size loads in, I'll do all yours too! Smile
