Some pics I took
Just a few odd pics I have taken over the last few days....I do tend to take pics of the odd, and strange, I call it art.......LOL
Something we found this morning.....We are still finding them of all sizes.
New front door decor, it says None dead, none alive. EVERY house was entered by the national guard after the hurricane, to look for ...bodies I guess.
Entering my street this afternoon...............sad ain't it. We found out that only 3% of our Town had flood insurance, so about 150 households total.and we are one of the 3% thank goodness.

Wow... I am so sorry about that all. It is a good thing you had the flood insurance, but my heart goes to those that didn't.
I love taking pics too. I hope to see more that you have posted! A gator (or is that a caiman?) in the yard! I don't know what I would think. And the picture of the street... wow.. so much lost. :-(

It's a gator, and yes we have been finding them everywhere. The pool, the yard, small ones mostly.....1-4 foot. We did find an 8 foot one, but someone shot it and cut off the tail. i sure would have liked to have that tail.

Re: Some pics I took
I take it you make soup or something with the tail? yuck, but I am sure others find it yummy. lol
I am sure that hurricane brought so many creatures inland. I am sure though, with all the little ones around, the bigger ones are near.

So Erin, does that mean that the insurance company is going to pay your claim ?

We are hoping they will. I came across a supreme court ruling that says they don't have a choice.

Oh Erin! It breaks my heart for all those who didn't have insurance. They will have a very difficult time rebuilding. But thank goodness more lives weren't lost.
Re: Some pics I took
Those pics are just chilling... put the dang gator down! LOL... I know it's small but it really gives me the shivers..
The pic of the street... all I can say is WOW... only 3% having flood insurance is just ubelievable..
The sign.... I certainly hope the majority have that 0/0 on them.. I just can't imagine seeing one that didn't.

Re: Some pics I took
I made Bnut turn the gator loose this morning, she wanted to keep it in the bathtub.......I vetoed that. The smell is, kinda fishy, moldy, salt water, rotten fridgey, and OMG, my quiet neighborhood where you never ever heard anyting or anyone is now sirens and horns and equipment, and just LOUD.
The Red Cross woke me up at 5:15 this morning, telling me they had HOT BREAKFAST over the bullhorn, I kindly told them we were not in need of help, and what I would do with that bullhorn at 5:15 tomorrow morning.

Re: Some pics I took
lol... I was telling Tim all about the gator pic here and how you found one in the yard. He immediatly said yum, gator. YUCK! He got to try it when he went down to FL with his Mom earlier this year and he liked it. Me, to be honest, when it comes to food, I am close minded. Especially when it comes to meats. I only really like cow and chicken (that show is funny, too!) and turkey and pig. But hey, that means there is more for you all out there!
Re: Some pics I took
No one really knows what alligator tastes like if they tried it in florida. They make tiny pieces that are heavily breaded and deep fried. It's like eating a kid's meal of popcorn chicken....Where's the beef? It all breading.

He did say it was breaded and in a ball. So I will have to tell him he needs to travel down to TX with me and eat it like, well, however it is prepared. Thanks!

Amen to that! I could live on nothing but mac 'n cheese if I needed to. But Zaven apperently inherited his dad's desire to taste all of God's creatures. He ate some squid tentacles at school last week. Just hearing that made me a little ill.
Re: Some pics I took
My kids would love to see a gator --they did see one on the side of the highway in Florida when we were coming back from disney world.. In florida they have gator on a stick to eat -- YUK all set with that --it makes my stomach turn.. Don't see much gator in the BOSTON area --(LOL) I am very sorry about your neighborhood that is awful! I was in texas 8 years ago and we were vaction on and I guess if I remember right something had hit there the week b-4 I just remember cars stuck in mud around the highways .. Good luck with everything

Re: Some pics I took
Fried, BBQ'd, on a stick, it's all good. I will not do not eat pork( not for religious reasons, just because they are nasty creatures, )or chicken , so gator is one of my primary adventures.
