Wasps - hate em!\ Empty Wasps - hate em!

Post by bizzeedee Sat Aug 08, 2009 11:12 pm

hate em, hate me! Washing the front porch and the siding and came across a couple of nests (one under a railing, one in the hollow legs of a metal frog statue on the porch)... tried hosing them away, but they kept coming around. One or two got me... boy did it make me made. Got the wasp spray and sprayed (saturated) their nests... but they continued to come around and actually attack me. That one got me not once, but twice on my leg. Got my fly swatter and started batting them... killed a couple in mid air... I'm sure my neighbor across the street was laughing cause he had no idea what I was batting/swinging at... but on the other hand, he was playing imaginery golf... Final score, Wasps, 2, Dee 12! and the final was, the porch and siding is sparkling!

You poor thing! Are the stings bad? Scott swears that kerosene helps a lot, especially if you get it on right away. Wasps tend to leave me alone. But then again I avoid them if at all possible.

I am petrified of anything with a stinger, I get cold chills and can't breath. I almost died when I was two from a honey bee sting. I haven't been stung in many years now....knock on wood.

I hate them, too! I like to sneak up on them at night and cover their nest with that foam stuff that holds them in and kills them. Or rather, I like DH to do that. I even hate the Nasonex Bee.

I've been stuck by bees many times, but none have never hurt as much as the wasp sting. Did I put anything on it? Yeah, bleach! Not intentionally. I had a small plastic bucket with bleach water and was so startled when the wasp stung me, that my hand holding the bucket went up and the solution splashed out and all down my legs. I was too big of a mess to come in the house to get anything (meat tenderizer works well if applied immediately).

Eventually the hurt went away, the welt went down, and no it's in the itchy state... and it's hot. So I'm going to live, but know of at least 12 wasps that aren't!

Hey, at least you won the match! Do wasps sting or bite? I know yellow jackets bite and can come back and get you over and over again. They aren't fun to find at all!

Wasps sting, repeatedly....I am allergic to them, and DH is very allergic to them, so we kill them as soon as we see them. ONe of bay's first sentences was " it bit me with it's ass".....

RFLMAO erin!!

I have used bleach, it helps alot. Tabacco helps, and so does meat tenderizer.

I got stung once, and am alergic. Swole up bad. I am not epipen alerigc, they dont think... my arm was all that swole up (stung on bicep)- I might be fall in the floor and quit breathing alergic, or just swell up like a toad frog alergic. Either way, I send my kids after them. They like to throw rocks at them and hit them midair. They get stung alot, but it entertains them, and keeps them outside. LOL (hey- you cant fix stupid...... )
