My kids won't watch it, not since they watched one blow up, and the pieces rain down.

Oh, that was a sad sad day when that happened. I was in 6th grade, and we watched it too. They quickly shut the TV off so fast after it happened.

Yeah we watched it in school too.

I mean the Columbia, in 2003, blew up over texas, rained Parts down on us for hours. We were watching it fly over us with a telescope, while at our old lake house. Freaked my kids out for days.

It's so sad when they die. But I watch anyway. I see it as a real measure of humanity in so many ways. Not just a 'look what we can do' thing, but a 'I don't care if you say it's impossible, I'm not backing down' kind of thing. It takes real courage, not because of the risk of death, but because of all the naysayers who try to tell people they aren't strong enough, smart enough, good enough to live their dreams.

OH, I agree, it is amazing, and I know I could notdo it.....but I still ain't watching.

Stuff fell off our walls in 03. BR's prize deer was on the floor. luckily it didnt break.

I saw the Challenger blow up in school. We were watching it.
