Grrr! Stupid hospital!

My ER trip for kidney stones was Dec. 18th. At check in, I gave them my insurance card AND our flex-spending account (FSA) card. It had about $1,350 left on it. That amount is for bills incurred during 2008. Well, they never sent me a bill and today I started tracking it down. Sure enough they billed my insurance. That's good. But they didn't bill the FSA card for the part the insurance doesn't cover (deductable and co-pay). So I called them up to see what the problem was and they tell me they can just bill it now. Well, sort of. But because it's in a different year already, I have to file paperwork and I can't just use it like a credit card or the money will come off of the 2009 amount that got put in by Scott's employers in Jan and the money from 2008 will be in limbo for months while they straighten it out. In other words, because they delayed in billing me, I have to fill out forms and mail in extra paperwork or my money goes "poof!" for at least 3 months and maybe forever! Grrrr!

I'm sorry Karen. The entire healthcare industry has been at the top of my shit list for months.

that wayy sucks. I sincerly think they do that kind of shit on purpose.

I'll be able to get it all taken care of eventually. I'm just annoyed because it's more work for me for no reason except they didn't get their act together.

Karen, you need to write down the time each and every time you sit down to deal wiht it. THEN send them an itemized bill. I am serious. if nothing else just for the fun of it. IF everyone did that, they might realize that we are tired of it

I hate health insurance, glad I don't have it....less hassles.
When we did have it , it was nothing but a huge PITA, i awas almost relieved when we lost it.
