Halp!!!!! My laptop is toast!

I tried to sign on this morning and nada


the long and the short of it is my laptop is toast. Still have my ASUS

but my Toshiba... not so much.. working on a fix for that...

anyway




I just got online a bit ago and popped in here to see what was happening

Seriously, what a bummer... I get fried if my ISP is down for more than 10 minutes at a time

That does suck! One thing about my husband being a computer tech is that if my computer breats down I have a few others to use until he fixes it!

Well.. it turns out that it is the backlight...maybe...

I put my hard drive into my husbands laptop...he refuses to use it so why not?

My nephew is going to try to fix it. If he does I may just give it to him.....

I get really ticked too, if my isp goes offline.. .When I had Verizon, my email server was ALWAYS going down....
it made me crazy , and I switched my phone, tv and isp to Comcast.

bellsouth for me. i've used them for just over 2 years now. prior to that, went thru 3 different outfits in town, all of which sucked--each was small potatoes, mom & pop kind of places.

i wished comcast were a choice in our area, but alas, it isn't an option. newwave communication (our cable tv) has more problems than bellsouth.

and when it rains and rains and rains, that's when bellsouth seems to experience the most hickups. one time they told me "saturated ground" HUH are the cables not waterproof? good grief! how lame.

Road runner here. I am cheap, but that's one I can't do without. Before we bought our house we rented a farmhouse way out in the country and had to settle for dialup. Whether or not they had access to roadrunner was our very first thing on the list for our realtor, lol.
I have to say in 4 years other than the power going out it has been down once.... I went into a panic and drove to the headquarters (I also have vonage- no internet, no phone) after a 1/2 hour, lol.
I can't live without my internet, it's only secondary to water and air.

I am on dial up. I have no choice. There is NOTHIN else.

I hate it. I have never seen or used anything else. BUT I know its out there.

so sorry about your puter kath. I know when mine was broken I was a basket case.. I hated being with out my laptop.

and I have a desktop! LOL

a desktop does not compare to a laptop..and even though ASUS is good for travel or being a "handbag 'puter"
it is not good enough for long internet visits or a lot of typing... just too small..

and Bizzee Verizon used to use the weather excuse too....lame lame lame

comcast is far from perfect, but its not too bad...

some tv issues lately... higher channels sometimes break up and sort of scatter

today my service is slow and I had a hard time getting even their site to load so I could pay the bill..sheesh~

I am way dependent on my internet for ....so much! Glad to see its not just me!

Just returned from my almost 4 mile walk, so thought I'd stop by and get back in on the chit chat

bellsouth ... went with them for DSL, as the other podunk outfits didn't offer anything but dial up. Oh how I feel for you folks that can only get dial up... but better than nothing, right?

To me, my internet connection is like my umbilical cord to the world! All family lives anyplace but here, and most of my long time friends are also in those same places... so this is how I stay in touch in an instant... no busy tones on the phone, no voice mail... just type it when I think it and it'll be there waiting for them to read

And Kath, I like the new name you gave me bizzee ... yup, sometimes I do feel dizzy my sister camp up with bizzeedee because as she says, "I'm always as busy as a bee" (and my friends/family call me Dee (actual name is Diane)
