Guess what I am doing today.......

I am taking Summer-Marie to get her ears pierced as part of her Christmas present.
Then I am baby sitting her tonight while her parents go to a Christmas party.
I am really looking forward to spending this time with my grand daughter.

Where is the ear piercing to be done? I would not like to be the one who gets to pierce her ears, I'm such a softie! With an adult, they know what they want and know it's going to hurt for a few seconds. When they're kids they're pretty sure they want it done and know it'll hurt a little. But on a baby...oh, the poor muffin! She won't know what hit her. I would not be in a condition to drive afterwards. Take a taxi, Valerie. LOL

I pierced my girls ears myself, bayley was 6 mos old, and never seemed to notice. The twinks however were another story, they only wanted one ear done....They were 3 though, so it was easier to reason with them.

We are getting it done at a swanky jewellery store in town,(over an hour away, so no taxi )
There are going to be 2 women who will do both ears at the same time.
She will be fine.

Rayley keeps wanting me to peirce her ears. I aint fixin to. She can wait till she is older. i know its hard when it looks so pretty, and everyone else has them, but I worry about her pulling them out. Someone gave her earings for her birthday last year, so she has REALLY been after me.

I was 9 when mine got done. But I was lucky. My mom was 18. and my grandmother 42. LOL My grandfather alwasy said 'if God wanted holes in your ears he would have put them there'. so he wouldnt let them get theirs done. My grandmother had hers done for 2 years efore he realized it. LOL she had always worn clip ons and he never thought nothing about it. LOL

I had a bad experience the first time I had mine pierced. I ended up having them redone when I was about 17. The first time I was about 12 or 13. I think I blocked that experience out of my memory or something.

I have told Saige she can have it done anytime, she says NO WAY. LOL My MIL wanted me to do it when she was a baby and I refused. I have a hard time making that get shots and pokes that are necessary, there was no way I would add extra to it.I told her as soon as she was old enough to ask I would do it, she is old enough, she watched a little girl get them done at at the mall and said NEVER mom.

I got mine done when I was about 4 or so. I used to remember really well the experiance, but now, all I remember is my aunt carrying me from the mall and me crying.

I barely wear earrings right now. I poke them to make sure they don't close up though.

I made Caly wait until she was old enough to save up and pay for it and then take care of her ears by herself. So she got it done when she was in 5th grade.

I'm glad she was a trooper for you. I was going to say that nobody would ask if she was a girl or a boy anymore, then I remembered that my sister had my niece's ears pierced when she was a baby and everyone STILL called her a boy.

Oh they called Rayley a boy all the time. EVEN though her brothers insisted she ALWAYS have a bow Ky'd onto her head. Even to just go to walmart. and she wore pink almost everyday. LOL
