I'm exhausted, but it was fun! The kids are so funny to watch at this age! You can get them spread across the diamond, but as soon as the ball is hit they all go running straight forward. Some of them were starting to catch on that they should get the ball to first when it was hit, unfortunately by the time they got it to first (by running and stopping to pick up a rock) the runner was already on second. Oh well, they all had fun tonight!

My favorite swim meet was similar. The team ranges from 5 and 6 year olds to high school seniors. (Races are done by age and gender, which is why meets last so long. A 100 yard Freestyle is swum by 4-5 yr old boys, then 4-5 yr old girls, then 6-7 yr old boys, etc.) Anyhow, they team had older kids coaching the youngest ones and then at the actual meet, the teen would stand at the end of the lane and the little ones were told to swim to "their" teenager. One race, a 6 yr old boy didn't hear the buzzer that the race was a false start. So he kept swimming. Everyone was shouting but his head was in the water and he couldn't hear what we were saying. If he made it to the other side of the pool on a false start, regulations said he'd be disqualified from trying it again. So his teen jumped into the water and lifted him up into the air and carried him down the lane... and the little guy kept paddling the whole time!

Sounds fun Rebecca... but exhausting!

I remember when I ran fromthing to thing to place to place always stopping in the kitchen to cook for someone in between. Thats why we have kids when we are young, so we can keep up!
