Christmas & MPs
The time of the year I shop on line (not the only) I try to utilize MPs... and so Christmas is always good for me... in the past week, I've earned 2062 MPs.
I had ordered Wipeout 2 from Amazon (not a MP deal since they don't participate) as the stores I wanted it from, Target or Kmart, it was only available IN Store at Target (a 35 minute drive).
But as it turns outs, the Amazon Wipeout was canceled (a 2nd party seller).... so checked thru Walmart at MP, 8 pts per dollar. They had it for 39.96 (a rollback price as everyplace it was 49 to 58)... so thought okay I'd zip over this morning (only 3 miles way) and the shelf price was 49.96... so home w/o and went back on line, ordered it to be shipped but of course, they wouldn't ship because it was available in store, but was able to buy online via instore... less than 4 hours later, got noticification is was ready for pick up ---- for 39.96 !
Happy Ending :-)

Re: Christmas & MPs
They had more extra-point specials last year. 20 MyPts per dollar at Overstock etc. I'm not excited about shopping or spending money this year at all.

Me either Lori! I had to force myself to make some orders yesterday. I am going kicking and screaming into the holidays this year! I am just tired of the holidays coming every single year lol, and also depressed. My Dad died in Oct, we have very little money, and I have been sick with some weird unknown illness lately, thus the depression. I am trying to get my spirits up because we have a grandchild due to be born 12/29. I did get a bit excited about the gifts I ordered yesterday, but just a bit. I need a kick in the behind I guess

Re: Christmas & MPs
Ok here goes, first every single part of my body hurt, including my hair. My eyes feel like someone poured salt in them and the inside of my mouth is sore. My mouth feels kind of raw or puckered behind the lips and on the cheeks. I don't know if this happens to everyone, but it feels like I ate too much sour candy or too much salt. If it is from something I ate though, it usually goes back to normal in about a day. This has been many days and it is not getting better. The whole body ache thing did vastly improve but I am still super tired. Sleeping doesn't help me feel any better though.

Re: Christmas & MPs
I would agree, it sounds like fibromyalgia. I'm sorry you're feeling so bad in addition to it being this time of the year (so much to do, so little appreciation for it!) and coming so soon after your dad passed. This will be a tough year for you, all right. I think the baby will lift your spirits. Everyone says being a Grandma is the best.

Re: Christmas & MPs
I tried looking up what I could and I keep coming up with systemic yeast infection. I have no real reason to think this is true though as I have not been on any antibiotics in years.
Thanks for the support!

Re: Christmas & MPs
What about an unusual sort of allergy. Some people become allergic to plastics and stuff like that that's around us all the time without us really thinking about it.

I haven't gone to the doctor. I am thinking a weird virus. I have improved, so going to give it a bit more time. I don't have health insurance, so I am not wanting to go to the doctor if I can avoid it.

Re: Christmas & MPs
It sounds like fibromyalgia to me also or an autoimmune disease. Could be one of many. I have what they called undifferentiated mixed connective tissue disease and maybe sjogren's syndrome which causes very dry painful eyes and dry mouth. My kidneys failed because of whatever autoimmune disease. Sometimes they can't tell which one. But I would definitely see a doctor.

Re: Christmas & MPs
No it's not fibromyalgia because when you have it you'd be dying of pain when you touch several points of your body

Re: Christmas & MPs
I think the allergy reaction is the winner! I mentioned allergic reaction to my hubby and he reminded me about a problem we had with Nestle water right before I got sick. I bought 2/24 packs of Nestle water, only to find they smelled strongly of mold (to which I am allergic!). I called to report it, but Nestle acted like no biggie, just a storage issue. I did drink an unknown amount before I realized the mold I was smelling was coming from my bottle of water I really didn't expect to get sick from it, but I think I did. I am still feeling poorly today, but much better. My eyes almost feel normal, my mouth has only 2 small patches that hurt and only my legs and upper back ache now. I won't be buying Nestle water again for sure!
