Basketball - not a subject most of you will care about
Disclaimer: I'm not a sports fan, of any sorts, save maybe the Winter Olympics Skating (but is that even a sport?)
But I've gotten sucked in, or threatened, to March Madness... because UK (University of Kentucky for you people outside this great state). Sucked in because UK is now in the final four. Threatened because locals have told me if I don't cheer for the Wildcats I probably would be driven out of the state strapped to a log
So I watched Thurs night as they beat Ohio... a top seated team. Then last night, they played UNC and by gosh if they didn't tramp them. I actually watched 95% of the game and was getting excited.
Sat night, they play UConn... gosh, I think my blood is turning blue (UK colors like the grass here in KY ... although it's not really blue).
As long as they keep winning, I'll be watching and rooting. Should they lose the my 'fake love' of Basketball will be over.
Just wanted to share what I'm thinking about.

I'm kinda in the same boat. I live in Indy and the Butler Bulldogs are located here. The Butler campus is about 5 miles from where I live. They made it to the final four again this year and everyone is really excited to see if they can pull it out this year.
At work, I got suckered into doing an NCAA bracket. Surprise, surprise, I have been in first place since the first week! This is driving the real sports fanatics wild around here because I don't know anything about College basketball! I happen to think it's funny!
I hate to say this Bizzeedee....but if your Kentucky Wildcats LOSE on Saturday evening....I win $700.00! So I'm going to be rooting for Connecticut. I don't think thats too bad for someone who doesn't know anything about college basketball and for only a $5.00 investment.
Now if this were the NFL...all bets would be off!! Go Colts!!

Well Tanya... why did you place UConn to win? You should have known better LOL
Back in the days when I worked, I too got suckered into a basketball pool (not brackets)... and won (not $700) and there were some mighty angry people ... protesting that someone who doesn't even like sports should not win...
They were just sore losers!

I'm the same way...not a big fan of basketball at all! But when SDSU was still in it...I showed some fake basketball love and watched a bit of the games, although mostly on mute while I was doing something else. It was hard not to watch or keep track since it was a pretty big deal around here and just about the only thing my friends talked about...most of them are SDSU alumni.

I'm having so much fun messing with people around here! I told them I picked the teams in my brackets according to the color of their costumes...you know.....those little uniforms they wear.
I think they may kill me before the final game! LOL!

I see nothing wrong with that! I choose horse race winners by their names. It works for me!

Horse Names work for me Lori... I've picked two Kentucky Derby winners by names alone! Geesh, if only I had put money on them....
I like messing with people who think they know it all too!
