Bayley was under the impression that meat, in general, dies of old age before we eat it. She is now saying is vegan...until tomorrow when she wants bacon.

My nephew is 16, and I am SO SO glad that I never had boys. He was here for 4 days, and ran me nuts.

\Dh has kindly informed me that I look like Tammy Faye Baker when I cry. We went to a funeral this evening, my good friend's Dad....but seriously, Tammy faye? Idea

Tell Bay the truth. It doesn't die of old age, but lifespans for domesticated animals that we use for food are much higher than lifespans for wild cows, pigs, etc. in areas of the world where there are still wild herds. And proper farming techniques (if followed) mean the animals lead a decent life before they die and that their deaths are humane. Plus even vegans consume living creatures killed for food. Plants react to pain, too. Tell her if she's really serious about not causing pain she should try to find cage-free, free range, etc. and work to improve laws that require farm animals not to be mistreated. She can still eat meat AND she'll be working to end abusive conditions.

I told her they grow them until they are tender, then we eat them....It came up because We bought a half of a cow, went in halves with a friend. I told her it was 6 months old, and would be butchered in Oct. she was appalled.

Also, the Covergirl Lash blt fusion, runs like grain thru a goose at the slightest hint of sweat or a tear...or rain....we had all 3.

good thing you mentioned the mascara...I didn't think to check if it was waterproof! just when I was thinking the free tube would be my favorite...

all mascara should automatically be water-proof and smudge-proof!

I am out of mascera- I have GOT to get back into the freebies thing- I cant afford the crap. LOL

I have been lucky with the animal thing- since my kids were old enough to walk they helped skin deer and squirrels, and never said a word about the chickens except "when do we get to butcher them?" and Rayley got mad as a wet hen when she had to go go school instead of stayin home for butcherin. LOL

I fiqured it might be hard on them when we butchered the bottle calf- but it looks like it wont be- They asked the other day how much longer till its killin time. And I overheard them hopin we had lots of roosters in the last batch we hatched out- that way we could butcher them. Instead of hens, that just lay eggs LOL

They love them and play with them when they are babies, but realize from the start what they are for.
