Storms Empty Storms

Post by bizzeedee Sat May 01, 2010 11:55 pm

Since at least 3 Sat morning, we've had one storm after another. In fact we had tornado warnings from 3-4:30 am... with them being within 3 miles of the house... but did we know? Nope. Did we hear sirens? Nope. But we sure got woken up by thunder and lightening that made us thing we'd had an earth quake!

It been rain hard, all day long. I went to a special yoga workshop today, and even though I was parked right outside the entrace to the YMCA, I was soaked... so went, I stopped in the locker room to dry off my feet, legs and flip flops! We had a 10 minute break late today but it's started up again...

HATE, HATE, HATE ... and this is going to continue thru the night and tomororw

I'm kinda wishing I'd built at ark yesterday... flooding going on in the subdivision as well as the entire city!

I wish we had some rain, we are deperate for it....Storms, lightning, thunder.

We have had the tornado warnings, and watches....but that is from the wind.

We've had a lot of rain here and a few thunder storms. Tornado season doesn't start here for another couple of months so other than the winds that come with the storms we shouldn't have any wind damage.

More rain today, but alas, the sun is finally out. According to my rain gauge, over 8" of rain in 36 hours. We do have some local flooding (including our subdivision, but fortunately, we're on high ground)... and poor Nashville, over 14" of rain in the same time frame. It's going down the drain... so many areas, including downtown, flooded, highways closed, stores with water to the roofs, cars floating.... So many have lost so much.... but exept for about 8 in Nashville, they at least have their lives!

Flooding here. We live on a hill, but there's flooding all over the state, roads closed, schools closed, and at least one death in our county.
