Princess and the frog is DONE!!

okay, At first I was going for just a generic frog, THEN karen showed me pics, but I already had my damn frogs done. I was scared to try to get more detailed. I just didnt think I could do it. But I did do a Ray the firefly.

well, once it was done, I regretted not making a more charecter looking prince and princess, but was out of time. I wish i had tried to make them look like the frogs on the movie.

anyway- here it is

It turned out great. They are adorable!!

It's a happy cake. Did the birthday girl like it? I want to rent the movie - is it out yet?

I dont know Lori.. I havent paid it any mind... LOL
And I didnt see the girl, a friend met me and took the cake with her

Karen, there is blue buttercream underneath, then piping gel with a blue tint to it (wilton gel pastes in both buttercream and piping gel). and Thank you

that tiara, broke 17 times. I had to make 17 of those. and that one broke too, BUT, I glued it backtogether. LOL

LOL Lori, apparently it was. The woman who's kid was having the birthday only cut them all small slices and told everyone to take all the sandwhiches and such that they wanted, but wasnt noone takin cake. LOL

My friend did get a lillypad, and she HATES fondant, but loved this. (half fondant half gumpaste) of course its marshmellow fondant. that helps.


And they were trying to analize what was in the cake. Puree'd strawberries was my favorite guess... But they all concur on one thing, it isnt a 'box' cake..........

Kelly, he wants a deer stand and a pond. I've been trying to work on it, but cant get the kids away from me long enough to do any fiqurines. Like right now, Bow will NOT go to sleep. He is in my lap wallering...

I am going to attempt the fondant this week. I have to make Saige's cake for Saturday.
I will not be sharing pictures, lol. I already know that I could spend the next four days and my best wouldn't look nearly as good as your worst.

the camo cake was the first I made with fondant. and it went on SOOO smooth. it just laid PERFECTLY!! that stuff amazed me. and honestly, it scared the crap out of me. LOL

are you going to make your own? with marshmellows? its really good. and easy to make.

the only thing is having to let it rest for about 8 hours before you use it. ERin makes it and loves it.

and its MUCH cheaper than buying the nasty tasting wilton stuff

Yup, I'm going to use the recipe you sent me. I think I am making a butterfly, unless she changes her mind again. We went to Walmart yesterday, the first time since they remodeled a few months ago and they have 2 entire aisles of cake stuff. I was very tempted to just buy it but I want it to be edible, even if it looks like shit, lol. It's for the family party so no one will laugh at me too much. It has to come out better looking than the cupcakes we brought last night that the kids made and decorated. I am not a perfectionist and I majorly lack in patience.

ARe you going to paint it or color the fondant and cut out the decorations on it ? I use the wilton pastes to color it and to paint it and I really like them. People say Americolor is better, but I cant find that stuff.

No, plain jane. I tinted it very light blue and I plan to just lay it on the cake and decorate on top of that.

yep, just let it set- until your kids fiqure out what it tastes like- now I have to hide it. LOL

I have to make some piping gel, I tried the other day, and burned it... I dread doing it again..
