I'm so saddened to read more news about this. People that do stuff like this to children should never be allowed back into society, so that they don't have the opportunity to do it again. We fought so hard to get Jessica's Law passed after Megan's Law and now to hear that its being fought here in California is outrageous!
I really hope they find her alive...

they've found a body a half a mile from where her car was parked and they are pretty sure its Chelsea.

what is this world coming to?

The world is not a safe place... its not safe to go running in unpopulated parks alone and the courts don't protect potential victims by keeping those who are viewed as a continued danger to underage girls in prison.

he'll probably get the death penalty and since California doesn't use the death penalty like other states do, he'll most likely die of old age costing the state $90,000 a year to house and not including all of his appeals and court cost.

oh and he plead not guilty today.

depressing, and sad.

It bothers me so much. I use a missing girl's picture as my avatar on this site and a few others. She was walking home (less than a half mile away) from a friend's house in a residential area. Sometimes it feels like there's nothing we can do, but our outrage, and our willingness to keep the subject in lawmaker's eyes... those have power.
