Today..
Well I managed after a couple weeks of difficulty to get a new shower ordered for the master bathroom. The plumber that I hired to put one in, couldn't seem to find a shower the right size. It finally took me 2 weeks of asking around and calling, but I found a place where I was able to order one yesterday. He caught the truck before it left the warehouse downstate and it will be in sometime today. Now I just have to nail the plumbers feet down to get him to come over and install it. He is terrible about getting back in touch with me and never calls back, I have to pester him.
BIL totally forgot two weekends in a row that he had offered to put the new hot water heater in (which makes me very angry). We have helped them out before and NEVER ask him for anything because we don't like to feel indebted. However this was one thing we didn't want to attempt ourselves and where we are already paying for the plumber to do the shower, and didn't want to have to kick out tons more $$. So BIL offered to install it so we took him up on the offer. Last weekend he forgot he was supposed to come over and put it in because he was too busy helping his buddy figure out what he wanted for a cell phone and package at the Verizon store in the mall for 3 hours! The weekend before that he "just forgot". I am always one that has been forgotten all of my life. Probably because I am usually so quiet, and don't usually raise a fuss, or bug. When I promise to help someone out, I make it a point to remember. It's embarassing to be "forgotten" all of the time. It makes me angry.
We are also still waiting on paperwork from the buyers of our place. This paperwork seems to be taking forever to get here (sent by the buyers husband who is in the Navy out on a boat in the middle of nowhere). However the sale of our place cannot go through without it, and it was sent 3 weeks ago. We can't give a closing date on the new house until we know when we are closing on the sale of our house since we are depending on the money for the downpayment. If we end up going past the 11th or Mar, then the bank could re-evaluate the credit and terms of our loan..because it will be over 30 days from our approval.

Re: Today..
It really does suck to be forgotten. I learned a long time ago that the loud and obnoxious tend to get what they want in a timelier manner, but I'm still not willing to go there. I'll mentally stick pins in his brain for you if you want me to. Eh, I'll do it even if you don't want me to. Bastard.

Re: Today..
We even felt bad accepting his offer to help, so Kris went out and bought a couple gift cards two Tim Hortons and McD's (both places where BIL goes) to give him after installing the HWH as a "thanks" for helping out.. Matter of fact BIL called here last night asking hubby wanting some help with some computer related issues and hubby talked him through it over the phone...I just think if you offer help to someone you shouldn't be so inconsiderate.

Re: Today..
Maybe not forgotten, but how can you feel respected if you're so easily set aside?

Re: Today..
I tend to forget things and am never offended at a reminder. Sometimes life just gets busy and if I don't write it down, I don't remember to do it. I'd just give him a gentle reminder. Maybe call on Thurs to ask him which day would be good for him this upcoming weekend because you'd like to make sure to have his favorite soda or beer on hand for afterwards.
Re: Today..
I will have hubby call him tonight. Seriously, I wasn't terribly upset about him forgetting the first time, but twice? That's a bit of an insult there.
We are still on the edge of our seats waiting for the power of attorney paperwork to arrive from the buyers husband who mailed it with some other things USPS parcel post from his boat somewhere near Malaysia. Everything is riding on that..nothing else can go forward until then. Meanwhile on the 11th or the 13th (can't remember) our 30 days from the loan approval date will be up which means that they can re-evaluate or change the terms of our loan if they choose to do so, which would take even more time.
I have decided to take tonight and destress by sitting in the tub watching my favorite movie eating chinese and drinking watermelon Smirnoff and Sprite with fudge brownies for dessert. Hubby is coming home early because he went to work early and has to stop and get groceries on the way home. The weather is really crappy today.

Re: Today..
Sounds like my kind of night, lol.
We got hammered here 21 inches in the past two days. It stopped a couple hours ago and despite the wind it actually warmed up quite a bit and they are calling for rain so it may be gone as quick as it came. I guess I am thankful anyway. Even though it's melting into almost two feet of wet yucky slush there is enough that it isn't muddy yet, lol.

Not me, I live in the "other NY" the large chunk of state the city is attached to. No delivery around me..... unless a cow happens to wander over.

Me either, Tara. I haven't had so much as a pizza delivered since I lived in the 'burbs of Detroit. That was 20 years ago.

Re: Today..
We just got a new pizza place that is close enough to us to deliver. Scott likes them a lot but I think their pizza is just OK. Other than them, I can only get delivery if I meet the driver halfway to town which kind of defeats the purpose.
Re: Today..
yep, Only thing delivered around here is babies... I can drive 9 miles over the dam and buy a pizza, instead of the 20 to town, But it really aint worth it. Digornios is our friend.... LOL

Re: Today..
lol...now that I read it, it sounds naughty..lol really the only role hubby had was bringing the food...I did have Chinese, but not in the tub, and had brownies for dessert, again not in the tub..and ended up having wine. I did have a bubble bath and watched a movie later..I am a little less stressed than I was..
