Deadliest Catch anyone?
Capt Phil Harris died yesterday....Bayley will be beside herself when she finds out. We met him( and Jonathon Hillstrand) at the Sturgis rally about 3-4 years ago, VERY nice man. I am a huge fan of the show, but I like all things fishing.

I have no idea who he is, I've never seen it. I am absolutely petrified of fish. I can handle gold fish in a tank but all other fish give me the heebie jeebies, I hate them gross ugly creatures. Was his death fish related?
Re: Deadliest Catch anyone?
That is so sad, he was my favorite. I know he had issues with blood clots before is that what he died from?
I liked him the most, he just seemed so down to earth and friendly. I feel bad for his family.

Oh no! I hadn't heard. I really like the show. Tara, there are almost no fish in it, but there are crabs like crazy. I didn't think I would like the show, but it's just so amazing to see how they live and what they face every day. I like Jonathan best, but honestly keep changing my mind.
Re: Deadliest Catch anyone?
He may have had clotting issues before. Blood clots are a common cause of strokes.
Re: Deadliest Catch anyone?
I saw the show a couple of times but don't remember this particular captain.
Tara, I've had several very vivid nightmares that had fish in them. Very scary! DH and I were snorkeling and came across a huge fish with teeth all over the place. I think it all stems from that episode.

He had a clot break loose in his lung or something like that.
I am terrified of chickens, relatively harmless creatures, but they scare the hell out of me. Fish are yummy, I am not afraid of them...but i totally get it.

Re: Deadliest Catch anyone?
Crabs still count as fish in my book. I have goosbumps at the mere mention. The only water animals that I don't find frightening are dolphins and manatees, lol.
Lori- I would have died. Seriously, I would have dropped dead right there. I do not go in water that is not heavily chlorinated. There was a giant stuffed fish on the wall at camp when I was a kid- I swear I didn't sleep a wink in that place. It lead to my fear of fish and disgust of stuffed dead things hanging on the wall. .

Tara, I was prepared to die right then and there - then I looked at DH. He appeared calm and cool. I'm seriously thinking "well, he does know a lot more about fish than I do and he isn't looking worried." Then when we got back on dry land he started saying "Oh my gosh! Did you see that guy???" THEN I got scared. We were not far from shore, but we were behind some enormous boulders that completely blocked us from view.
