Re: earthquake
At another board I belong to, most of the members are in Ill, and they say a second one just happened.
Perhaps an after shock. Last month there was one in Missouri. Sounds like the New Madrid fault may be waking up

The hit was near Vincennes Indiana. No damage reported.

Re: earthquake
Glad y'all had no damage! That is always a major plus!
I saw the news pics of .... oh crap. I cant remmeber the name of the town. it was 5:30 this morning.. but there was bricks and debris in the street. I dont know if anyone was hurt in that town, but they did have some structrual damage. They said a bridge had been down for checking but they opened it back up.

There was one in Missouri last month?? Must've slept right through that one! Ha ha!
We're 350 miles away, and we didn't feel anything.

He's right. Our paper tonight had a better update than the web did at 7 this morning. Salem it was. And I also read that there was damage to buildings in Louisville, KY... here in Hopkinsville, they did check bridges for structural damage, er make that one bridge, we're a small town. And there was a photo of some liquor store up in IL... zillions of bottles laying on the floor... oh man, what a waste.
My pictures ar still crooked. Hey, they said we could have after shocks... so will wait a few days, wouldn't want to go thru straighenting photos again

Re: earthquake
Ugh, I don't even wanna think about it. We live in central Illinois and I just happened to be awake when it hit because the baby was having a bad night. I didn't know what to think. We were suppose to have thunderstorms so I thought maybe a tornado cropped up so we were ready to go hide when it stopped shaking. Then of course I'm sitting at my desk later that morning and it starts shaking again when the second one hit. I'm not cut out for this earthquake stuff!

Re: earthquake
Glad none of you were terribly affected by the quake. We have had several here in Idaho and they can be very frightening.

Re: earthquake
I heard that some people in Toronto said that they felt the quake, but here in my little corner of Ontario I was at work all night and didn't feel a thing.
Re: earthquake
I was probably awake. Zoe had a fever and slept with us and fussed and kicked all night. I know I was awake at 3, at 4, at 5. She's feeling better now, though.
Re: earthquake
Aww poor girl, I hope she's feeling better.
Can't say i have ever experienced an earthquake, or any other natural disaster for that matter. The one perk to living in nowhere NY. That's all scary stuff, we have occasional flooding and huge snowfalls and ice storms but thats' normal and not usually life threatening.

Re: earthquake
She's fine today. Caly had it a few days ago and it was the same thing. Sick for about 6 hours, then fine.

Several in Idaho? When? I know there was a good sized one back in the 80's. And where do you live in Idaho, btw?

You didn't feel it, Rochelle? We could feel it here and you are closer to it than we are. The one around 10:15 we felt too. It wasn't as big though. And let's not talk about the Madrid fault and jinx it...the last time that baby opened up it ran the Mississippi backwards for 2 days. *Shudder* I don't want any part of it and we live too close!!!
