Earthquake
There was an earthquake about 60-70 miles from me this morning. I didn't feel anything, it was a 3.4 quake. I guess it was too far away and small. They say it was about 3 miles under the ground. It is really rare for one to happen in this area. I remember years ago there was one, but it too wasn't a big one.
Those things give me the willies for some reason. It doesn't seem natural to me for the earth to shake.

Re: Earthquake
I've never felt one either, but they say we have small ones around here every once in a while. I'm ok with it as long as I can remain clueless to them happening!
Re: Earthquake
we had one here last year.... we were sleeping and i remember waking up and smacking the bottom of the bed cause i thought the cats were under there fighting. i woke up later on to find out that it was a quake

Re: Earthquake
I have been in two earthquakes. I happen to be baking a blueberry pie when one hit and the blueberry bowl went flying off the counter - it was a hell of a mess. It is odd/eerie seeing things move when you are not. The hanging lights on the ceiling swaying, everything flying around and shear panic comes over you.

Re: Earthquake
Here's a link to a news station about it. The Mason Co. they are talking about is about 50 miles from me. Gallipolis Oh is right across the river.

I live near Columbus, but I was in a pool at that time, so I didn't feel any of it., or it's repercussions.

Re: Earthquake
I felt an earthquake when I was at work. It must have been 24-26 years ago. I lost my footing and almost fell down. LOL It was weird, it just took a while to figure out what was going on. We don't normally feel them in Michigan.

Re: Earthquake
When we lived in San Diego in the 70's we experienced serveral... no damage, but swining chandelairs and crocked photos on the way. And Lori we/I lived in MI, never recall any. But here in KY, my gosh woke one more to a shaking house (think it was the Missouri fault)... did a little damage in north county, but again for us, just tilted photos on the wall... but the waking, well that was an eye opener!

I felt one about 20 years ago. My husband thought I was nuts until he heard it on the news and saw a crack in our ceiling.

California is one place I would not live. Those things scare me, I'd be on pins and needles all the time if I lived out there.
