HAPPY THANKSGIVING to us Canadians

TWAS THE NIGHT OF THANKSGIVING,
BUT I JUST COULDN'T SLEEP.
I TRIED COUNTING BACKWARDS,
I TRIED COUNTING SHEEP.

THE LEFTOVERS BECKONED -
THE DARK MEAT AND WHITE,
BUT I FOUGHT THE TEMPTATION
WITH ALL OF MY MIGHT.

TOSSING AND TURNING WITH ANTICIPATION,
THE THOUGHT OF A SNACK BECAME INFATUATION.
SO, I RACED TO THE KITCHEN, FLUNG OPEN THE DOOR,
AND GAZED AT THE FRIDGE, FULL OF GOODIES GALORE.
GOBBLED UP TURKEY AND BUTTERED POTATOES,
PICKLES AND CARROTS, BEANS AND TOMATOES.

I FELT MYSELF SWELLING SO PLUMP AND SO ROUND,
'TIL ALL OF A SUDDEN, I ROSE OFF THE GROUND.
I CRASHED THROUGH THE CEILING, FLOATING INTO THE SKY,
WITH A MOUTHFUL OF PUDDING AND A HANDFUL OF PIE.
BUT, I MANAGED TO YELL AS I SOARED PAST THE TREES....
HAPPY EATING TO ALL - PASS THE CRANBERRIES, PLEASE.



MAY YOUR STUFFING BE TASTY,
MAY YOUR TURKEY BE PLUMP.
MAY YOUR POTATOES 'N GRAVY HAVE NARY A LUMP.
MAY YOUR YAMS BE DELICIOUS.
MAY YOUR PIES TAKE THE PRIZE,
MAY YOUR THANKSGIVING DINNER STAY OFF OF YOUR THIGHS!!

so today is Thanksgiving? Is that when the Pilgrams landed in Quebec? So does that mean turkey and dressing and pumpkin pie for dinner today or tomorrow? I had no idea that Canada celebrated a "thanksgiving" tell me more.

I'm still working my usual hours at work all weekend and keep forgetting it's a holiday! We're having our big dinner on Monday. Hope everyone has a great holiday!

I always forget yours is a month before ours...actually almost 6 weeks before. Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are going to my parent's house tomorrow for thanksgiving! It was supposed to be today, but there was some minunderstandings about the date. LOL. Oh well, I can wait one more day for my pumpkin pie!

Happy Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving. The whole idea is just wonderful, plus I love food.

We celebrate Thanksgiving on the second Monday in October.

Most farmers in Europe held celebrations at harvest time. They brought the tradition to Canada. I guess our Thanksgiving is earlier than the USA because in November we are generally freezing our butts off here.

Happy Turkey Day to my Canadian Buddies!

I sent email to a friend in Calgary. She's doing a traditional Thanksgiving dinner...spaghetti! lol Plus her DH is working today at triple pay, which she has already allocated to a new HDTV. What a gal! He works, she gets a new TV!

Hope everyone has a terrific indulgent dinner, and that the Maple Leafs at least look like an NHL team for a change this season for tonight's game.

I actually went to Wikipedia and learned all about "the Canadian" Thanksgiving... what I got was that you norhtern's who used to celebrate in Nov, just wanted to have your harvest day before us down this way....

but for whatever reason, hope you all enjoyed your Harvest Day... and we'll all look forward to our own Pilgram Day in a few weeks...
