Re: This week so far
Zazzle is a great site. If you make your designs public, other people may purchase them, and then you get a kickback. The amount depends on what sort of item they purchase.

I am also exploring other options as well. What about printing your own, has anyone ever done this? Like for example I would be editing my design and printing on 1.5 in round labels either white or clear, (is it possible to do clear?) I have never done it, so if anyone has please let me know.

I don't think clear would work.

You can do clear, but i would recommend getting stickers "done". Zazzle is a great site, I use them alot!

If I manage to get these buggers done I will have to post them. I was also thinking about what if when these pics are taken if it would be possible to use digital scrapbooking embellishments with them. Edit the photo for example by adding a digital flourish or something on them before uploading them to be printed. Know what I mean? Is is possible? I have never done digital scrapbooking but I found some digital scrapbooking frames which I thought were cool and didn't know if they could be used with the photo.

Keep in mind the photos won't be traditional type photos, Lori showed me some that she had done and one of them Wynonna and I really liked, as Lori pointed out the "urban style" photos are in right now. So Wynonna pic poses would be such as the one Lori showed me like steps by a brick wall, Railroad tracks, weathered side of a barn, even a phone booth, chain link fence, on a swing. They will be done in black and white, or sepia. I may see if I can't do one old fashioned movie star looking one too somehow.

Re: This week so far
I like those frames, Kelly. I've not been weighing in because I plan to do most of my kid's pictures by myself. I'm a decent photographer and Scott's a very good one. I just can't see us paying someone to do it for us.
Re: This week so far
Yay!!!!! Such good news today There is a woman at my husband's work who does photography as a side business. She takes the photos and puts them on a photo disk and you buy the disk and own the rights to the proofs, so you are able to get them printed up with whatever photo service you want. She is willing to do Wynonna's senior pics and here's the deal
- We can get as many poses as we want
- as many locations as we want
- she will do a couple traditional poses, a couple nature photos and then the non traditional ones I was thinking of doing (thanks to some ideas from Lori and others)
- She is also investigating an idea I had for a picture, like the old movie star black and white glamour pictures like Rita Hayworth that have that dreamy look to them.
She does whatever photo editing she feels necessary or that I request her to do. For unlimited poses and also her being willing to do something a little different, I think her price is worth it, she is asking $50.00. Hubby says that is very doable, and we can get whatever prints, announcements, etc made up and have all fall, winter to do it so the expense of getting them printed isn't all at once, even though it will be cheap to get them done I will need a lot since I have a big family. So I did have some good luck this week after all!

Re: This week so far
That is a very good price. If she does good work, then by all means that is a fabulous deal. Congrats to you!
Have you seen some of her photo's? I'm honestly not trying to discourage you, but I also don't want to see you throw away $50 on something that may have to be repeated at a higher price. What if you don't like any of the photo's, will she still charge you for her time? Will you get to see them before you are given the CD?

Re: This week so far
My hubby e-mailed me some examples of her photos and I was more than pleased. I only have to pay if we are 100% satisfied. She has done weddings, senior pictures, baby pics, family pics, you name it and I was able to see many examples of all the types of photos. Of course, since my husband works with her and I have met her at some company functions before I know that she is super nice. I know that she would not make me pay if I wasn't happy with them. This is her site http://kathie.homestead.com/
I like the senior photos where the girl is sitting on the rock in the water, and I love all the baby photos.

I just looked at her site Kelly, she does great work. I love the one with the baby who's name is spelled out in blocks above him.

Re: This week so far
We went to the local second hand store on Sat and found an old black pill box hat with the black netting, and black elbow length gloves for her black and white "movie star" picture that we are planning. Mom let me borrow my grandmothers fake pearls and we just need to find a black feather boa and whatnot. It should be really neat. My oldest sister and I love the old black and white movies and both watch TCM often, she freaked out when she heard we were going to do a movie star pose. We also found a picture location today. Wynonna had an appt at the Dr's (her mono is back) and we went for a ride afterwards down by the train tracks on the river road, there are some old boxcars down there, some have graffiti and look really cool..
